LFG Raid posts have reached a new LOW
So as a person new to the raid ive been looking to find a raid group and I came across a disturbing trend. People with no experience are DEMANDING only to raid with groups that have experience. it goes a little something like this

Seriously? so now people without experience are demanding experienced raiders? no wonder no one will take new people in. if you don't have experience you shouldn't demand that you have a group that has beaten oryx. you are at the bottom of the barrel. take what you can get.

Edited by DmoTraz: 9/28/2015 5:55:50 PMOn a serious note though, to anyone looking to run the raid, I have 5 oryx completions, one full raid completion, three golgoroth completions, and 2 warpriest completions. If you need help I'm always available if I'm online in destiny, gamertag is the same as my screen name above. I'm on PS4. I would ask that you have at least 3-4 people as I only have 1-2 people in my friends list I can count on for an additional raid run after their weekly completions. On a side note I would ask that you are 288 or above, for DPS reasons, I've tried with several teams with 3-4 members at 286 or lower unsuccessfully.

Should just find a raid team or clan you can run with instead of lfg. My clan hasn't ran it yet and none of us have looked at spoilers or anything our first run will be this weekend and we'll be doing blind. But my experience with lfg if you don't have experience you're not gonna get picked up

I haven't tried the raid yet, so you must have completed it flawless at least three times. I expect you to carry me. And every 20 minutes we'll have a 10 minutes break so I can grab a smoke. Most of those guys posting that have not and will not finish the raid man. There may be a million of them, but they're still just kids wanting to be carried. Just cuz you see the post doesn't mean anything. There are plenty of normal people looking for normal people

Me and 5 other people who had never completed the raid just beat oryx yesterday. Got the scout rifle, the bond, the chest piece, and the shotgun. Was probably my best destiny moment ever

5 RepliesMy only requirement to raid members is that you're good at the game. Meaning you can kill your share of adds, follow directions, prioritize your targets and think and adapt quickly. You have that and the raid team will succeed. Unfortunately I find too many that just blatantly or in some round about way, ask to be carried. This raid is like skolas when it was hard. Everyone has a part that they need to do. Pull your weight or the team can wipe. No carries in this one. Maybe four 310s can Carry one, but enemy health scales when you add people.

He's a few things to avoid not being invited to the raid: - If you don't care about spoilers just look up Datto's guides on his channel about each fight and learn them. This way when your asked if your experienced you can say "I haven't beat him but I know exactly what to do". - Post on any LFG stating "looking for players new to the raid" that way you and others can learn the raid by yourselves. Don't expect people who have done the raid multiple times to invite someone who can easily learn the raid or find others to go in with for their first time. They don't want to spend time trying to explain something and possibly fail over and over because 1 or 2 players have no idea whats going on. When I join a raid group or start one I expect everyone to have watched a video of the fights or read about them before joining. If you want to go into the raid blind and discover it for the first time you need to find other players who are doing the same. It's not a new low for players to want to do a raid without fail a bunch especially when they have already beat it.

This is exactly why I don't like LFG as Bungie's answer to the lack of raid matchmaking. As we found out in the Great Gjallarhorn Controversy of Year 1, there's way too much arbitrary kicking, and too many people only interested in taking what they perceive as the easy way out. I don't really care how people play the raids in general, but I think it's a shame that in a game like this, that can be so much fun when people work together, people do this kind of crap.

My team went in blind and made it to oryx. Now that we are at a oryx, people with experience is not a bad idea. At Least have people who know the mechanics so we don't have to explain and keep wiping until they understand what to do. Oryx is no walk in the park.

100% true. My friends wernt on and was wanting to finish up oryx. I know what I'm doing and I have experience so I just gave lfg a shot. This group wanted experience only saying "lets get this done, I don't want to spend hours". I join in, wait about 20 minutes for other people to join in, we fly in for oryx and as soon as we land, the host says "[i]sooooo... How do we do this?[/i]"... The ENTIRE room is dead silent for a solid 5 seconds and one guy chimes in saying " well we gotta get this orb thing and make oryx flinch". By the time he finished the word 'flinch' I was already backing out.

I wonder what the stats will be on people who completed it will be? Vog and crota had a low % of people who completed it. The guy at ign said the raids should have match making buy now. I agree with that if its only a option.

I can understand wanting one person with experience cause they'll know what to do...but an entire team with you being clueless? Fk that bs.
