So as a person new to the raid ive been looking to find a raid group and I came across a disturbing trend. People with no experience are DEMANDING only to raid with groups that have experience. it goes a little something like this
new to raid have 2 people a titan and a hunter. need 4 people with raid experience and have beaten oryx only. message me.
Seriously? so now people without experience are demanding experienced raiders? no wonder no one will take new people in. if you don't have experience you shouldn't demand that you have a group that has beaten oryx. you are at the bottom of the barrel. take what you can get.

Edited by o0DELTA FORCE0o: 9/27/2015 10:38:09 PMThis raid is stupid. It caters to groups of 6 who play regularly. I've completed every raid in this game and I have been stuck on oryx going from team to team and then rage quitters who quit after 2 tries is ridiculous. It does not even give the team time to warm up if I don't beat oryx today I may never play this piece of crap raid again. It's not hard it's just tough getting a team together and to stick with it.

So...here's the thing about lfg. It takes 2 minutes to make your own lfg post with any, or no requirements. I don't get all the bitching on here about requirements & lfg.......as If only an elite few have the power to form a group. It's literally wide open to any & everyone. Who cares what anyone else types in their post?........don't see one you like..........make your own. It's simple
-
You don't need to worry man, no one will respond to that post lmao.
-
Sooooooooo, what your saying is people with no experience want to play with people who are experienced so they don't go in blind? How terrible. Just wait till all the must have touch of malice posts start popping up
-
It's really freaking hilarious at this point. The LFG culture that Destiny has is crazy. ~TheGreatNike

Just lie and say you're experienced. If you watch some videos you'll get the idea. Learn on the fly

I've beaten the raid fully roughly 5 times, doing a 6th tonight, and In my experience bringing in new people can either cause a brief delay of a couple wipes or hours wasted and the person is just as bad as they were when they started. My advice to people that haven't done it but want to do it: A.) watch multiple YouTube videos and UNDERSTAND the fights, you should be able to recite the mechanics because there isn't that many. Those that do this often do the best when joining a group of experienced players B.) make it known of lfg that you are inexperienced but are familiar with the fights. C.) if you want to go in blind and want that "day one" feeling because you've had some circumstance that's been preventing you to play, post that! There are many people out there looking for the same! Don't join an experienced group and expect them to let you figure it out. AND MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL: DO NOT join a group asking for experienced only players to just go in and -blam!- the team up because you really have no idea what to do. This is why people have built such a prejudice against the inexperienced, you go in and -blam!- it up for them and they get pissed off. It happened to me three times in a row the other night where I asked for experienced only as I was short on time and three people who claimed they've done it but had no idea what they were doing joined and I went off on them and booted them immediately. Now to end this...if you are inexperienced and looking for someone who has the patience to help you through, next week I will be teaching some buddies and will be happy to bring you along. If you are interested, add me (gt same on Xbox one) and i will help you since I have three 300+ characters already and am just waiting for the heroic version now. We may not get through the entire raid but you will at least learn some of it. But do watch the YouTube videos of you don't know anything!

Pretty funny when Trials rolled around. They would demand skilled players. I really regret making posts because I'd get bombarded by posts from people who said they were "godlike" but they were pretty much looking to get carried.
-
Edited by Lucius Aelius: 9/27/2015 11:10:39 PMI agree it's ridiculous for people without experience to demand experience, that's why when I had no experience my post was "looking for 289- who doesn't know what they're doing for Warpriest Checkpoint, message with level, GT Lucius Aelius." Now that I know what I'm doing though I prefer people with experience, because I don't mind walking people through but I also don't want to spend all day wiping over and over just to have people quit and make me find a new group. As more people level up to 295+ then more people become eligible, and as you play the raid with other lower levels you can still beat the earlier bosses and get drops to increase your Light level even if you can't beat Oryx yet, then once your Light level is high enough you should have an easy time finding a group, just watch a video online to get an idea of what to do so that you can say you know what you're doing.
-
I just consider that folks like this are not worth playing with. They are doing everyone a favor by advertising their douchebaggery up front.
-
The mechanics are nuts... everyone has to do there part And be a high enough light lvl to put damage on oryx
-
The raid isn't hard...it just takes people not messing up their part. Everyone has a job to do. Don't mess up your part and it's a piece of cake. You'll rarely die from the enemies. Most of your wipes will be from someone messing up on their job. That's it. Practice and learn all the roles so you can help others understand what to do. Once everyone is absolutely sure what they're supposed to be doing then the rest is very easy.

Edited by StratusPilot: 9/27/2015 10:36:39 PMPeople do this because they want to be able to finish the raid without spending all day on it. Yeah it sucks if you haven't done the raid but people don't want to spend 6 hours teaching you the mechanics, they want to clear it in an hour and continue with their lives. If I make a LFG post you don't like, you don't have to join. You are perfectly capable of making another post and starting a group yourself. EDIT: I misread your post. I agree completely...i get the most annoyed though when a person tells me they are 295+ and have done the raid only to see a 280 not able to find the relic to even start the raid. Thank bungie for the kick option. ;)
-
Damn lol I want to attempt my first raid today.
-
New to King's Fall? Having trouble locating a team willing to help you out? https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/157170114/0/0 I created a place just for you. Head on over and get this thread going so people can learn in a great learning environment free of the prerequisites you see in other Raid finders. Don't forget to bump, or like the thread so other new raiders can locate it. Have fun, and slay Oryx!

I waited a week before buying the dlc so I was late to the oryx raid. I spent a day going from group to group just trying to learn the fight. I joined at every checkpoint, and by the time the group inevitably fell apart I learned that part of the fight well enough to join a group that knew how to do it. That's called progression my dear friends. Go in first with the intent to figure the fight out instead of trying to find a group to carry you.
-
I've helped two groups through the raid up to oryx. It's fun and rewarding to teach people the mechanics, which is what this raid is all about. Now I've realized something about these lfg posts, now keep in mind I don't agree with them and hate the restrictions, but you legit need to be 295 light or higher to do anything to oryx. We did everything perfect the other day but weren't able to stagger him because we only had 2 people above 295. Needing people that have beaten him before is a bit unnecessary because it's a simple encounter once you get your timing down but 295 light is a must.

I took new players under my wing for two weeks. Teaching them and telling them what to do. Guess what? They never listened and kept up messing up/not doing their job... Even after a very detailed explanation and an option to ask questions. I don't know if it's because they're idiots, don't like taking orders from a woman, or just flat out can't understand my accent. But it was annoying... So from now on, I'm sticking to people who have run it at least once.
-
Join a clan. I have found this to be a much better way to find people or runs. They clans work together and the higher level members always seem to be very willing to help new recruits
-
Probably the only way they're gonna be able to get a group if it works, given how no one else wants to let them in and the other side uses a similar argument in their own defense.
-
Need 5 308 light level. Must know how to solo platforms and one shot golgoroth.
-
DEAR. -blam!-ING. CHRIST. Grow up. If people want experienced players, that's THEIR CHOICE. They are looking for a group, so they have the right to ask for the player types THEY want. Want to LFG? MAKE YOUR OWN -blam!-ING GROUP.
-
The problem is that people don't listen, I spent the better part of last weekend trying to teach people the mechanics of the different bosses, and what I got from many groups was people distracted by other stuff, people trying to take vids and post them, posting shit on facebook or instagram, or just not listening and then causing countless wipes, and plenty of arguing about what strategies were the "best". Can't really blame people for wanting a good group to run it quickly.
-
I am personally looking to do the raid either this Tuesday or Wednesday. Never done it but I have read some guides and watched videos and have a general idea. Willing to learn quick and fill any role needed. I plan to use a bubble Titan but can switch anytime as all 3 of my subclasses are max. I'm on Xbox one as well. Please message me in I can join your group. My gamertag is El Watermelon. Thanks. And my light level is 291

Edited by NicheWhiz: 9/27/2015 9:17:19 PMIt's the same thing like this. Lfm 4 more. Me and my friend are 290 light need 4 more only 300+ are allowed. What i suggest you do is go and message them stupid noobs first you raise your lights before demanding a big one
