HIGHWAY TO THE DANGER ZONE
-
Rotor or fixed wing? I don't recognize the canopy.
-
Edited by SpeedySnek: 9/30/2015 11:44:43 PMIt's a B1-B lancer, low level bomber, I fix engines on them in the Air Force and got the chance to ride on one, it was an amazing experience. I was in the co pilot seat, it seats 4 total.
-
Edited by Recon Number 54: 10/1/2015 12:10:07 AMThat is a REALLY small opening for a zero-zero seat. All those panels in the way. But a REALLY nice ride. Did they take her down low for some fast nap-of-the-earth flying? I've seen the 'varks do it and it's amazing. Probably even more so in a big girl like the B1.
-
Yeah, we got down to 500 ft at around Mach .92, to be a bomber the maneuverability is astonishing, the cockpit is surprisingly small, especially considering it's a bomber, but they can outrun missiles which is awesome, they're also nuclear capable but they don't use them for that anymore. They only reason they exist is to bomb at the lowest possible level.
-
What does Mach 92 mean? Is it 92 times the speed of sound or am I completely wrong there?
-
Edited by SpeedySnek: 10/6/2015 5:38:34 PMNo, it's basically 92% the speed of sound, so it doesn't break the sound barrier but it's pretty close. About 650 or so miles an hour. It's Mach .92
-
Ohh I saw the '.' You put but I'm on mobile so it was on the line before the '92' so I just thought it was a period you accidentally typed.
-
Yeah my bad I noticed it too, you can't really tell it's there haha
-
Are you wearing nintendo's new controller?
-
Of course, I was testing their new equipment, very retro looking.
