I'm not bashing on Titans, I want to know what makes Sunbreaker a balanced sub-class. We know what makes Sunbreaker a "OP" subclass so my question to all of you is what makes it balanced.
Edit 1: Why is this being downvoted?
Edit 2: Some of you need to realize that I'm simply asking a question, nothing more.

*hunter questions new viable titan class cliché
-
Remember ram warlocks let us have our moment.
-
It's fine titans needed a strong offensive subclass. I've had no issues with them in pvp just as strong as golden gun one shots or my new favourite chain lightening 2,3,4 guys as they try to flee! Let titans have there hammers over all makes pvp more balanced having all 3 classes able to wreck in pvp.
-
Yeah I hadn't played crucible since the TK dropped and I will say sunbreaker needs a armor nerf but only in pvp if they did that in pve that would be terrible
-
Hammer of sol is balanced in 4 ways It has travel time It cannot hit targets in the air unless you have great aim As a titan, you are slow as molasses The subclass focuses all but 2 perks on your super, meaning very few passives (unlike bladedancer, which has for passive perks: quickdraw, blink, and better sliding)
-
Sunbreaker - Amazing super, lackluster neutral game abilities/perks. Stormcaller - Good super, good neutral game abilities/perks. Nightstalker - Meh super, amazing neutral game abilities/perks Balance.

Just watching my son play atm. First time he has played TTK. Quote "OMG here comes the hammer of -blam!-"
-
How is the Hammer of Sol balanced? It must have a weighted handle!

Edited by Atheons Little VogChamp: 9/26/2015 12:42:09 PMBecause it's a timed super, it runs out over time, and it's meant to kill fast because it's a super.
-
The subclass is built around Hammer of Sol. Just look at the skill trees.
-
A few reasons I think it's balanced would include. Slower moving projectile than gold gun, dropping style of projection requiring more (not too much more) aim than gold gun, splash damage is mostly vertical rather than horizontal from my experience meaning, and lastly the armor increase I would affiliate with the harder to aim part. Just put it into a scenario. Player throws hammer and misses, waits a second to retrieve hammer, then has to throw again. Which in this game and how fast TTKs can be is near suicide if you miss. That's just my thoughts. I main a titan and think it's a really good super, but that's what supers are supposed to be like.
-
Can't tell you how many times I've popped hammer and instantly been sniped or shotgunned :(
-
Getting sick of seeing this my self, not to sound like a hunter fanboy (well I kinda am since its my main) but golden gun > hos. Imo ofc :p
-
only op class is Huntard. Titans finally get something good for a subclass and this crybaby pvp shit has to stop.
-
I know like they're basically ranged blade dancers
-
I personally think warlocks are more OP, good thing I sort of main one
-
Go to destinytracker and check the stats. You'll see that sunbreaker is not nearly as good as the forum crybabies think it is.
-
When the only thing you can do is run away I think there's a problem
-
Don't care. Nightstalkers OP

Mmm salty tears, so delicious.

Nerf this entire forum.

Every single issue players have with this game links back to pve armor/weapons working in pvp and not a single person says a word. The crucible will forever be flawed until they design it as two true seperate tiers of weapons/armor,remove ridiculous supers, and create a randomized spec type gun setup like AW did (and I despise COD)
-
It's balanced because it's easy to be killed while using it, unlike blade dancer year one. I e had my hammer cancelled so any times, or I'll vet it activated and get shotgunned. You need time and room to get it going without being shut down.
-
Because Titans desperately needed a good offensive subclass that didn't send them straight into enemy territory just to HOPE to get a kill and then die immediately after. Warlocks had their Nova Bombs that they could use to strike a massive blow from a distance, Hunters had Golden Gun that they could also use from a distance and get many kills while Titans had a defensive bubble and a massive explosion that required danger close proximity to be effective as well as a large congregation of enemies. The risk/ reward ratio was practically 0 unless you got insanely lucky and a mob of enemies or entire fire team was in the same place at the same time. Now Titans have something that has the effectiveness of Nova Bomb with almost the range of Golden Gun which they did desperately needed, imho.

The fact that it can be stopped in any manner. Im a sunbreaker but ive killed other sunbreakers easily. If the subclass is in skilled hands then of course it seems op but its not. Its the user. Same goes for storm trance or nightstalker if put in the right hands everyone would be crying that there op and need to be nerfed. Honestly I just wish people would shut up and play the game
