Any way to level up without using those crap weapons? The only thing I did was to hand in these fusion rifle thingies, but that hasn't brouht me very far...

This week the gun smith has a full auto pulse rifle that I'm keeping for crucible . Also the missions are super easy

There are a few quests...mostly crucible based I think ...that give gunsmith rep...I didn't do them myself but a friend went through the whole crucible quest line and mentioned it...

They were a pain to complete but rather rewarding. I was so close to reaching rank 3, regret not doing my test weapons earlier.

Theres no other way but its easy to finish the pve weapons and those guns are actually pretty good.
