Any use to level gunsmith past rank 1?
As title says, whats the point behind rank 1? I placed an order right now.

Yes., Guns as rewards when you level up. More guns with more perk options that you can order as you level up. Quest for class specific legendary weapon when you hit rank 2 Quest for class specific exotic weapon when you hit rank 3.

Etc Besides that, you get a quest for a class specific legendary special weapon (rank 2) and class specific exotic primary (rank 3). Note: you also [b]directly[/b] get a free legendary weapon when ranking up, usually 290 ATK.

It's an all new mechanic, I doubt they'd only use it for two guns. I imagine there will be more rewards later on.

Well, people have already mentioned the legendary and class-specific exotic you get at levels 2 and 3, but I would keep leveling up beyond that. Why? Who knows what else Bungie has up their sleeve with the Gunsmith. I wouldn't be surprsied if there were quests at levels 5 or 10.

I'm rank 3 and you get class specific weapon. Then after that, I don't know if anymore quests come up from the gunsmith. I'm speculating that the sleeper simulant is a daily quest find in the Promethean.

The higher the level the more orders you get. And he gives special quests for leveling him to 2 and 5 I believe.
