[u][b]Headlines:[/b][/u] [u]Oryx Defeated![/u] This week, the taken and their king, oryx invaded our solar system. Oryx, The Taken King, used the powers of The Darkness to 'take' many different races, including The Fallen, The Vex, The Cabal and occasionally, The Hive. It is still unknown why or how Oryx was granted his powers. Queen Mara Sov and Prince Uldren of the Awoken are presumed dead after a catastrophic attack on Oryx's ship, the dreadnaught. Many guardians went to defend our solar system from Oryx, but in the end, it was six guardians; King Gothalion, Professor Broman, Teawrex, Rebelize, Gunny and Charionna that boarded the Dreadnaught and defeated the Taken King. It is reported that during their assault of the dreadnaught, they faced a warpriest, an ogre named Golgoroth and two deathsingers. The Vanguard have congratulated the fireteam but have said "The Taken War is not yet over, we must drive all the Taken from our planets before we can say we 'won'". In an exclusive interview, Cayde-6, hunter vanguard, said, "Full credit to the fireteam, but we all know that without my... er... unorthodox methods, Oryx would not be defeated, no matter what Zavala says." [u]Awoken in disarray?[/u] After most of the Awoken's fleet was destroyed and the monarchy presumed dead, the Awoken are in a state of turmoil within the ranks of The Guard. Petra Venj has been made the acting leader of The Awoken, but many doubt her leadership abilities, with Ikora Rey rumoured saying Petra Venj might 'pull an Eris'. Petra Venj and Variks are working in tandem with guardians to destroy the remaining Taken in the system. [u]Some confusion as Xur's format changes.[/u] This week, The Nine have changed Xur's selling format, confusing some guardians. Xur no longer sells a weapon directly, but instead sells a Legacy Engram, a Cryptarch approved weapon engram, which only gives old weapons. Also, Xur now sells a 'Three of Coins', a consumable that our sources say 'increase the chance of a loot drop from an ultra enemy.'. There was confusion about the use of this item as well, as using multiple 'Three of Coins' doesn't stack the chance, but instead increases the chance for the next kill if your first ultra kill does not reward you with a loot drop. Legacy Engrams cost 31 Strange Coins per engram and Three of Coins costs 7 Strange Coins per 5 Three of Coins. A petition has started, hoping to make Cayde-6 the new speaker. Tess Everis has boycotted the Tower after she was replaced by kiosks. Many guardians have joined her cause.
