Was wondering how many people get annoyed by the melee Shield Brother (Valus Mua'al I think). I've noticed how large the damage zone is for his melee.
Do you struggle?
Do you have a strategy?
Do you find it inherently easy to evade?
Feel free to share your story or tactics with others and provide tips.
Edit: Can't keep up. Replies a-plenty.
Edit: Listed Tactics so far (will update):
•Jump Over (Usually works. Even if you get some damage.)
•Use Core for cover (I do this and it usually works.)
•Stay on outside and rotate around map.
•Tag Team (Baits smash brother.)
•Focus on Adds (Highly beneficial and relieves pressure.)
•Use Supers (clear large groups of adds or use on boss.)
•Snipe (after retreating to the opposite side of map.)
•Have one Guardian keep the other boss busy.
•Focus mainly on smash brother.
•Move to right (when in close range and he tries to punch)
•Shadestep (I'm assuming the same idea as the move to the right.)
•Run backwards while shooting (No aiming.)
•Find working cover spot (allowing cover from boss.)

need help with this quest gt above

Don't stand still shooting him. My Titan has no agility, yet I just walk backwards while shooting (no aiming) and he can't hit me.
-
If you're a hunter shadestep works amazing against both of their attacks if you know how to use it.
-
Lol right at the start you can lock him in place and just unload in his face without him moving.

Edited by Celoxamortis: 9/23/2015 6:56:00 AM
Do you have a strategy?
Uh... simple: Jump up and over him after he reaches the apex of his jump and starts to come back down. It's easy to avoid.

Just jump
-
When he charges at u jump directly over him
-
Jump over, not away.
-
Just jump
-
Not too much. If it killed you in one hit, then it'd be beyond irritating. With the right modifiers, it'd be practically impossible. With a hunter he's not too bad. They can jump high pretty quickly.

Oooooh imagine grounded...
-
One of my favourites and it's one of the easiest in my opinion. If all three players use their supers, just pick up orbs, use super, and don't forget to jump and move. I seem to get more Engrams from this strike also.
-
You can sword duel him by two hitting and strafing to his right side (your left)
-
jump over him as he dashes.
-
When he jumps at you, jump the opposite way over him and you don't get a scratch
-
I don't know if you know or not but you can fly straight over top of him when he jumps at you. Try it!! It works.
-
Yeah no I had no problem with it. I stayed on the opposite end of the map from him and shot/sniped him from there. Only died once when he magically appeared literally right on my head.
-
Stay on the outsides, avoid melee bro while taking care of ads. Easy peasy.
-
If he comes near me I can usually jump right over him no problem. The 290 strike was a bitch though.
-
It's my favourite strike because it's quick and fun. In the boss fight you just have to stay mobile; I enjoy trying to fusion rifle the orange dude when he's flying through the air.

Edited by CaVeMOnkeY17: 9/23/2015 6:02:28 AMNot that bad. Makes it really nice they aren't giant bullet spunges like old bosses. Just bait the smash brother to rush at you and as soon as you see him rushing jump over and behind him his smash is mainly front based. Then deal with adds. When both brothers come out have 1 team mate dedicated to just scaring the rocket brother away buy going in his shield and canceling it. Kill smash brother. Kill adds. Have one guardian keep breaking remaining brothers bubble by entering. Deal with adds and kill brother. Just did the 290 variant for the chaperone quest. I was 290 the 2 others helping me were 283 and 285.

Run around that middle tower thing, dude gets confused and is like "tf where did he go?"
-
Uh jump?
