How can you? Would you stop working if you knew there was someone or something that would care for all you and all your needs and allow you to live the life that you want to without any hardships? I know I would. If God did prove he was real and everyone believed that he was always there for us, there would be no need for caring for yourself or having a will of your own if you had your whole life safely set out before you in a way that you would like it. At the other end of things, if no one believed in any divine or other being that wasn't mortal, why would we still be kind to each other each day and not always trying to take what others had be it property, a spouse or their life? Just think on this for a second. What would be the point of doing good without a God, and the point of doing anything with a God?

Because you are doing good for the people around you. That should be enough, you shouldn't need a god to get you to be a nice person. You should be that on your own.
-
Some people need that extra incentive to be good and not devolve into murderous beasts living on nothing but greed.
-
And to me they should get passed that and learn to be good on their own. For their own reasons not for fear of being separated from their god. But that's just my thoughts.
-
It's so sad how you need a god to find purpose in your life and in your good deeds.
-
That it is. Many people just claim faith just for the sake of their own salvation when others find it as something to stand by and for when nothing else is left.

I think that we should be remembering here that science deals purely with the physical guys. Anything outside of the physical is outside of science. Keep that in mind before we start arguing science vs. Christianity.
