Hey guys, as many of us know, Assassin's Creed Syndicate comes out next month on October 23rd.
I wanted to start a discussion thread on people's feelings about this game, and wanted to know where everyone currently stands on purchasing it.
Normally, this wouldn't even need to be discussed; but Assassin's Creed Unity brought about many problems to the series in many people's eyes.
Myself, I am buying it. I'm still deciding whether or not to pre-order it though. Probably won't.
So where do you stand with this game and this series?
-
Will wait for black Friday/cyber Monday sale.
-
We're doing the industrial revolution in history class so that might be interesting. A lot of Hey! I know that! moments
-
I want to be excited for it but it looks like what would happen if a serious developer remade Fable III. I'm hoping the game involves more than wall scaling and rolling over the backs of my enemies and stabbing them in the right cheek with my wristy blade. Black Flag's naval battles were a step forward. With two protagonists but no Splinter Cell co-op between them, Syndicate looks like a step in place. Art direction is superb though.
-
If you don't get a pirate ship I have no interest.
-
I'm the least excited for Syndicate that I've ever been for an AC game. And I actually liked Unity, and if I'm being honest, I liked all the other games too, including ACR and AC3. I'm just burned out on playing it every single year since 2009. The only way I'll be playing Syndicate is if my wife buys it for me for Christmas.
-
Waiting to see if the Modern day story is relevant if not I'm not getting it. Please bring Desmond back.
-
Am i the only one thats going to spam the revolver?
-
AC haven't been good since Brotherhood. AC4/Rogue is an exception.
-
Looking forward to it. But I won't buy, I will rent.

I am so on the fence about this. I love the series, but... Unity was so buggy it nearly made me give up AC games altogether. Liberation was like AC Barbie Adventures, what with all the changing clothes bullshit. Rogue was good, but just a reskin of Black Flag, really. My issue is, I love the setting and time period of Syndicate, and Evie seems pretty badass, but I've been burned enough by this franchise over the last 3 releases that I'm wary. They shot their wad with the Ezio trilogy and nothing they do going forward will be as good as those games were. Just my opinion.
-
I started getting tired of AC after Black Flag, so I skipped Unity ( dodged a bullet there) and Rogue. Syndicate however looks OK, but I don't know if I want to deal with all that modern bullshit again. I lost track of the plot about 5 games ago, but I like the Victorian London setting, which I think is a great one for an AC game. if I have to spend hours of the game doing whatever it is you do in the Present day/Future segments, I'm not gonna be interested. I just want to try and Air Assassinate someone from the top of Big Ben.
-
Ubisoft has betrayed my trust for the last time after that disaster they called Unity. I won't ever pre order their games again, but I will wait for reviews and purchase it when it's price gets reduced.
-
Console exclusives (Hawkmoon, Skyrim DLC, Syndicate Missions, Halo etc) are a cancer to the gaming community.
-
Not only did Unity ship broken, but the game's meta story was virtually absent. There was zero contributions to the plot of the series as a whole. If I hear this is the case again, I'm done with this series, but I'm not buying this game unless there is a meta story.
-
After 2014 I'm not touching any Ubisoft games with a 10 foot pole.
-
It's Unity 2.0. and the developpers said that the present day will be the same as Unity. So no. I'm so done with disappointment.
-
The fact that they are including a tranny in old London for the sake of modern "diversity" has proved this game franchise has jumped the Politically correct shark. Will not buy to support this nonsense.
-
Nah. I was done after Revelations.
-
Assassin's Creed has always been kinda "meh" to me.
-
Unity was awful. Never did u have to earn points to learn how to assassinate two people, or jump down on them from above. Also the puzzle to get the armor was pretty crap. I enjoyed the ezio ones, this was just silly. Plus who's idea was it to remove being able to use someone as a bullet shield because all they do was shoot and the fighting was so silly. I preordered but I hope this one is better. Thankfully ebgames allows you to return games within a week so if it's awful I'm getting all my money back.
-
I hope it can be better than unity, but thanks to ubisoft being stupid last year and releasing two games at once then didn't have the necessary time to work on unity. Maybe syndicate will be better but I personally don't even like the time period.
-
Didn't keep up with it, and I'm just not excited about it. Unity was the nail in the coffin.
-
I'll play it if they release it on games with gold otherwise it's not worth my time None of the ass creed titles are
-
Don't really care honestly.. Haven't payed attention to it at all.
-
My older brother is a AC fanboy. He's preordered its Collector's Edition.
-
AC has been going downhill since Black Flag. Didn't like Unity, do not like the direction Syndicate is taking. Will not be buying.
