Whats with everyone thinking that the worms are the ahamkara, man people are always quick to jump on the first idea that sounds cool even if there's little to nothing to back it up.

Notice how these Worms offered a deal of power at a steep price The Ahamkara showed up about when the Traveler did (one could say they may have been following it) and offered deals to power hungry Guardians that came at a price unacceptable to the Vanguard (sound familiar?) and were then hunted to extinction. Also wording like "oh bearer of mine" shows up in Ahamkara items, Ahamkara grimoire, and the books of sorrow. In addition an archaic term for a Dragon is "Worm" and the Ahamkara were described to be dragon like. TLDR: strong connections, nothing definite

Dragons are referred to as "Wyrms" not "worms".

Read 5:3 and 5:4 again. Specific references to "dragons" and "dragon wishes". The ahamkara were known as wish granting dragons. I'm not saying it's confirmed, but it's pretty dang convincing.

Edited by BrotherWalker: 9/22/2015 3:36:49 PMLet's see probably because Yul the honest Worm described himself as having wings and jaws and being coiled - that's pretty dragon like. Also, they speak with the same "Oh {insert noun} mine..." That's pretty damn specific to the Ahamkara. Also they are known for granting power and knowledge with dark consequences also as a side tidbit it makes sense that all the Hive would be named things like Knights and Wizards and other Medieval sounding names of they worshipped the dragons. The worms that the Hive ingested were just the larvae, the baby dragons, so they don't look like the big grown adult dragons but they do grant powers to the hive for feeding them. The Ahamkara are not extinct and seem to be immortal just like how they grant immortality to their host. How can you read the grimoire and not see how the Worms are Ahamkara? Lol @ "little to nothing to back it up"

The Dragons (Ahamkara) were considered an affront to the Worms by Oryx. He wanted the Dragons to be all shut in cells. Dragons in this context sounds like second-rate copycats of the actual Worms.
