Just curious if I was just having a run of bad luck or is it nearly impossible to find a raid team that doesn't demand raid experience 2 days after the raid dropped. Although I haven't had a day off since the 13th, I have managed to get to 292 and I had the hardest time for about 2 hours looking for a group to run fresh that didn't require Kings Fall xp.
I came to destiny late, was it like this with VoG also in the beginning?
-
The raid is still very young. Give it a month or two and we'll have the raid down to a science like VoG
-
My group started the raid at 2. We were completely blind on knowing what to do. 8.5 hours later we came out victorious! It was a awesome time.
-
Does "I watched a ton of youtube videos" count as experience? :-) Serious question, I've been watching closely and I think I'm ready but I don't know!
-
I just watch guides and I'm already experienced. Haven't even tried the raid yet. Literally know what to do every step of the way. So I'm gonna msg for invite and say I have experience when my light level is a little higher.
-
There is a pretty clear DPS check at the first main boss. I tried doing it with 3 290+ and 3 sub 270's. We executed very well but didn't get him to 50% before he enraged. You could piggy back on crota but i'm not sure you'll be able to do the same on Kings Fall. I agree with the requirements on this one.

Lfg wasn't popular then. Hardly anyone raided then.

You can find a lot of people sherpaing. Those are the people you want. Otherwise, just go in blind. Look in the recruitment section. Plenty of people posting they want to do the raid and have no experience. If someone says they want you to have experience, and don't have any of the grimoire cards for beating the raid, they're just looking for a piggy back and you should avoid those people.

whats the learning curve of kings fall? VOG was a bitch on my first two or three runs to understand
-
This is a very difficult raid with mechanics we still don't completely understand yet. I haven't went all the way through but a couple of my friends have. A lot of people honestly seem scared to try
-
I made my first attempt at the raid today (12 hours ago). Due to having to drop my kids off, pick them up and all that jazz I have had a few breaks in between check points, but I am at oryx. As long as you have someone on your team that has half an idea you will be fine. We made up our own strategy on Golgoroth and it worked... After about 10 attempts! Light level does count, but as long as you are 290 or very close to it you will be fine. People are just trying too be elitist ass hats who think they are special little snowflakes. Every group I have been with are pugs off LFG. So if a group of 290 Pugs can do it then most people will be fine:
-
If you are on PS4, Imma do the raid tomorrow, now experience required :p it's my first time too lol
-
Tried to raid last night. I specifically said I had no mic and that if required just shoot me a message telling me what to do. Well shit, that all went out the window when we got to the jumping puzzle.I was the only one that couldn't make it across and literally 20 min of me falling to my death I was kicked and don't blame the leader one bit for that. It was pathetic.
-
Try joining a clan if you have the time for that. Get in a good group of folks that don't have those silly requirements. Kind of crazy already requiring folks to have raid experience in the new raid. Or at the very least I suggest finding a few folks to run it every week with.
-
just post that your new to raid and want a fresh start raid. if your light is high enough youll be picked up some people dont care bout xp. there are plenty of others who havent raided yet also
-
Raids are suppose to be for fun, my dude. I'm currently working on getting out of the 280s as well are most of my friends. Once we get 290+ we're going to take a swing at it. If you want to add me, I'd be happy to raid with you in the future.
-
It's always been like this. Your best bet is to make your own post.
-
Same I think I'm gonna start my own raid team excluding xp that'll help us all out :) plus whenever you're recruiting always say you're looking for one more when you damn well know you have no one in your fireteam. Without even knowing the messages will start pouring in. Mwahahahah
-
Yep, its been like this every damn raid. Within hours the "must have exp" posts appear. It settles down within a few weeks and some of the kinder type of guardians will start helping the less-try-hards/sweaty amongst us, once they have the loot they want and understand the mechanics better.
-
either try and recruit your own group on lfg looking for people in the same boat as you, there will be many or just watch a youtube video and claim you have done it before
-
I'm gonna be raiding tonight. I'm 291 with shotgun or 290 with sniper. I will not require experience as I have none. I'll be on in about 12-13 hours from now on Xbox 1. Feel free to send me a private msg.

Edited by GX: 9/21/2015 9:03:20 AMyup, its not hard to know what you doing, its not rocket science, its a shooting game.. so many retards who think they can do the raid and are just dead weight

Edited by l Beanie l: 9/21/2015 8:56:26 AMJust pretend that you know and try pick it up as you go along. "Have you done the raid yet?" " - Yeaaa, sure. I got to oryx then everyone left" ;) If you're a decent player overall and listen and learn by watching, you'll be fine. Or just make your own team.

Make your own fireteam

Didn't have this issue
