Snipers are OP in Crucible. Here's a "short" reason why:

Snipers have may be the most skilled, but do they really have a high learning curve in Destiny, if not, a learning curve at all? Let's see why I believe they need nerfing:
-The ridiculous impact snipers can one shot revived enemies, completely ruining the point of over shields on revives
-Very High Target Acquisition makes head shots extremely easy to get
-Little to No Recoil allows for follow up shots to be extremely easy with little to no effort
-No Sway, allowing players to be completely agile and spam fire while maintaining targets
-No velocity limitations (Why would bungie add Hakkë weapons with velocity buffs, yet there are no limitations/mechanics to make this relevant? This applies to all weapons)
-High rates of fire (Similar to scout rifles)
-Head shot hit boxes are big, allowing for ridiculous one shot kills that shouldn't happen (Neck, shoulder, ect)
-Semi high ROF snipers with all listed above.... Really, Bungie?
-Conspiracy Theory-D
-Can outgun regular CQC weapons because of all listed above
-I recommend Nerfing the salty community as well. Nerf cries are running rampant on things that don't even need it. (In short, don't always listen to the bitching unless you actually looked into it.)
Other than that, they're completely fine and only skilled players can use them, right? (Obvious sarcasm) No, but seriously, something needs to be done about this. Anyone else agree? Love my sniping in every shooter but I agree in Destiny it's a touch easy. I think a small aim assist and stability nerf would do nicely.

Two body shots and 1 shot to the head should be a kill. I guess shotguns shouldn't kill up close in one shot, sniper shouldn't kill in one headshot.

6 RepliesThere is high damage falloff, no sway because only a headshot is a 1 shot kill, res overshield isn't only for sniping, and you sacrifice high RoF to res snipe. Asking someone to res you when a sniper is watching the body is stupid, and completely your fault. Snipers are not OP.

Ok, I know what you're saying about the whole "I got revived only to get my head blown off thing," I get that. BUT, you can't really blame snipers for that. As a sniper in this game, and someone who does this (as well as it has happened to me) the issue isn't the sniper, but rather instead of having a over-shield (with apparently no armor boost in the head area), players being revived should have at least a two/three second immunity. The idea is not to let the other team get a revive at all, so killing a guys three seconds after he's revived isn't, or shouldn't be a hard task.

Grenades and horseshoes, high range shotguns, HC's, etc. my point being people will complain over everything in the game. Personally snipers aren't as easy as everyone says they are to use u run a sniper and find myself missing a few shots here and there resulting in death. Every weapon has its upsides and downsides. Rush a sniper user and they have little defense against a shotgun close range. You can look me up on DTR I'm not a scrub in pvp I used to be 18k rank now I've dropped due to less play but I should hold some credibility because of how much pvp I've played. Aim assist hasn't changed since the game launched its only a problem now bcz long range weapons are the current meta.

I can see how the nerf has changed your game Because you have 15000 shotgun kills and 5000 sniper kills after all. The nerf took a lot of shotguns away from people so now they use snipers not because they are op it's because they are a better option in most of the new maps. Just because you are not good with a sniper does not mean they are op.

Bump. Snipers in destiny are cheap. No sway whatsoever, just aim and shoot with aim assist. Wow you snipers are real pros! Something needs to be done so that it will take more than just aim and shoot with snipers.

Don't stick you're head out.Snipers are getting better and better in this game,evolving to a certain extent,since the crutch of final round has been patched they will continue to improve.either get on the band wagon or go camp in a corner with felwinters. Their not op it's just people are starting to get good at using them.
