I'll join in too, I took a four year hiatus from gaming my last FPS was CODMW3. Between deployments and traveling it was hard to settle down and I like a tight knit group if able. I recently bought a Ps4 and got destiny and a mic, it's a ghost town out here. I feel like I'm being one shotted with an average of 4/12 k/d. I get lucky but that's usually shotgun around corners. The learning curve is steep, expecially with the new patch but I find that the only real advantages other Guardians have is understanding and balancing they're spec. Having skillsets that compliment each other... Gunplay is awesome, but I feel it's only 25% of your success in pvp. The supers and grenades and melee are really what makes you shine in matches. General tactics newbies or green skins should use are... 1. Stay on the perimeter of the map (big circles guys/gals) 2. Be practical....They just balanced the mechanics like real life, your not gonna snipe someone from the other side with a pistol. As such, take someone out a football field away with a shotty. 3. Communication...use your mic. And announce where the fire team is going that way you don't end up solo on Flag Alpha where your team is Capturing and defending Bravo. Only to be merck'd. 4. Piggy back....on a player who spawns next to you and let them get f'd up first. Think of him as your personal scout, then shoot where he does. 5. Do your homework and find out where your classes strengths are, Titans are heavy warlocks spam grenades and hunters work well for ranged combat/slashing close quarters. 6. If your getting pissed take 5 min walk your dog grab a beer or take a potty break, (kiss your wife guys) don't ever take this seriously. 7. Lastly if you have a mic announce at the start and ask for others to get on with theirs too, if no avail at least you tried to make friends. (People usually aren't assholes. 8. Join a clan/group it's worth it and helps you network. Makes the gaming experience that much more pleasant on your console. But don't just join, scan there forums/message boards and be active.
