Year one players will still be able to play year one content as they normally would
For Year One players who didn't buy TTK:
- Daily, Weekly heroic and nightfall missions are all gated off and are level 40.
- The Vanguard Legacy playlist is a shadow of what the old Vanguard strike playlists were, providing paltry rewards and seemingly no legendary gear.
- All “Kill Objective” missions while patrolling lead to Taken, who you are unable to kill due to the high level difference. This effectively renders them unbeatable unless you have a fire team member who owns the expansion.
- Crucible now only lets you select between random 3v3 or 6v6 match types.
- Level select on missions is gone, you can only do the mission on the default difficulty.
- The wandering wolf packs and blades of crota events are gone, along with being able to level up Queens Wrath other than grind story missions.
- Doesn’t seem like there’s a way to earn Legendary Marks, so you can’t purchase planetary materials.
- All of Eris’ bounties are gone, and her item selection has been culled.

We want a response as to why this has happened Bungie. Failure to do so will lose you the money and respect of millions of customers.
Edit: Some good comments you guys left...
The reason why it happened was because they didn't already have our money from preorders. With house of wolves and tdb they had already sold a bunch of copies with vanilla destiny.
They knew people were skeptical this time around, so they made an effort to lock content from non dlc players this time around to try and force us to buy.
We should want to buy bungie. Not be forced. People really need to start including bungie into their criticism of Activision. They are one in the same now.

Coming from someone who has TTK, i think its ABSOLUTE robbery what BungiVision has done. And i hope that something is done about this because never have i ever seen anything like this in any other game

LOL.
Sad day as a game developer, when the "highest rated" post in your "feedback" forum is a thread dedicated to calling your employee a liar.
Good job Bungie. *claps*
I support this thread btw. I'm a Bethesda man now though.

I have TTK but can understand your frustration...from a game standpoint, with TTK. Bungie looks to finally have a grasp on how to tell an engaging story in Destiny and how to organize the game. But from a business standpoint, Bungie / Activision can't seem to figure out what it wants Destiny to be...right now, it's basically a subscription based game, but rather than pay monthly, you pay up front...but they market and talk about it in terms of it being a traditional game. By that, I mean if you buy the first game, you should always be able to play it, regardless of how many sequels come out...like any other game. Imagine being locked out of Halo 4, the day Halo 5 comes out!
It creates confusion to market the game as anything other than subscription based, especially in the console market..my guess is Activision knew it would make lots more money on the front end of its 10 year investment to market the game as it did, rather than make it subscription based. Now that the game is established, they seem to want to subtly change the expectation of Destiny as stand-alone games, to something you will need to continually pay for (quarterly?) to access.

To be frank I think Destiny is a subscription based game underneath, cleverly hidden with lies, spoken with silver tongue. All of the DLCs so far was just a way to get revenue. Though Destiny's lack of content(from day one) bars it from ever being a subscription game. And all of the DLCs so far, and even TTK(arguable, there are evidence towards this) have been in the base game before release. And my point with this, each time the DLC was released it seemed like surge of content - while in truth it was only filling up the gaps that was once dug.

This game is slowly (d)evolving into on of those mobile games. It's designed to keep you not only addicted, but obsessed with the grind without even realizing it. Slowing down reward gathering to keep the player logged on. What's even worse is now access is being restricted by a pay wall. And then they try to hide that wall behind semantics.
Just wait. In some future dlc, you'll see timesavers sold in game for strange coins. And you'll see strange coin packs in the marketplace for real money.
This is why I haven't played the game lately. This is why I haven't bought ttk. Because I can honestly see this game turning into nothing more than a really pretty and more expensive farmville clone, and I have been given no reason to think otherwise.
Edit: Someone needs to make a meme of the Taken King with Liam Neeson's face on it.

i never trust bungie/activision again. i will stay away from everything they come up with. i would love to see them go down in rates for ever. i know i talk like a hater, but thats the way i and many others feel. fact they time they will wake up will be to late for us. the comments of bungiefanboys hurt because they dont realize at the time that they are disrespected too, why dont they have pride? in real life they would beat ass if anybody would disrespect them. i sorry if my english is not so good that everybody gets the point what im trying to say. If i could write in german it would be easyier. anyway.....my friend an me are done. its sad because we use to love the game with all the shit in it.

Destiny is the most profitable kick starter ever!!!

Cry a river hope your not a grown man making all these tears

Deej is not a dev and probably has 0 say in what they decide to do. If you're going to hate, aim it in the right direction

Bump. They've all gone strangely quiet.

Edited by XBAMNX: 9/22/2015 8:18:58 PMBump Bring on the damage control BungLe. EDIT: I really think we should make this thread the #1 trending thread in Feedback at all times until they address it, or ninja it. BUMP THIS GUYS!
-
By God's grace, bump this post!

Thought this thread had been deleted, glad it's still alive. I'm surprised someone hasn't come to defend their ego, which makes me think Bungie is keeping them gagged on the issue in question until they release their damage control plan, whatever that maybe.

Edited by KightofTitan: 9/22/2015 9:11:47 PMGuys if you want to get Gamespots attention go to this guys page and ask him to talk about this issue, he seems to be the only "gaming journalist" to call Bungie out on their crap. Already I did my part. http://dannyodwyer.tumblr.com/

I am one of the players that pre-ordered the game, and now when I look back I say to myself "What the hell were you thinking?". I am very disappointed at what Bungie has done to a game that is supposed to make you "Legendary". Back to my point about pre-ordering, all I got out of the pre-order was the red baron sparrow. They promised it was going to be the fastest one in the game. Next thing I know I challenge my friend to a race, big surprise we tied! Then a fancy sparrow with flames on it comes by and leaves me in the dust! Wtf! The Red Baron is shit! And when I pre-ordered I was expecting at least a discount for DLC's rather than a stupid red bike. And I'm sure this goes for all of the players that pre-ordered this game too. My friend and I were super hyped for this game. Now we cringe every time we here the games name...

Yeah, like they'll respond. I've seen mutes with muzzels and their tongues ripped out who talk more than them about their problems.

soon they are going to make you pay to post on the forms

Edited by MatrixasISeeFit: 9/20/2015 5:52:56 PMToo all the people supporting fellows Players that have been screwed and lied to by Bungie: Please don't engage the fanboys/sheep trolling the feedback threads telling you to "Pay up or shut up". Just mute them as they don't understand anything but "throwing money at the screen." Don't even waste your time. PS. To the Fanboys: if you are reading this and are about to reply... Don't. I most likely have already muted your ass. Have a nice day. ;-D

lol this got -blam!-ing Ninja'd!? Really Bungie? Really?
-
Crazy how they've stuck their head in the sand on this issue. It's been trending all over the forums for a month now.
-
I've got TTK... But I do agree. Content purchased in previous DLC shouldn't be; a) removed b) restricted. I do however understand bungies position also. To maintain game content for those that didn't buy the various DLC would effectively mean there would need to be 4 concurrent destiny game universes. Vanilla, Crota, HoW and TTK.
-
I just had someone tell me Destiny is like a car and you have to pay maintenance on it. I don't know any car company that removes features from your old car because you won't buy a new one.

Deej and Cozmo only respond when Bungie is losing money. They could careless about players.

Thank you for this and bump like hell. I haven't bought it yet and I'm kind of glad I didn't. I feel betrayed that my content is being locked out for stuff I already paid for. I was robbed and -blam!- by BungiVision and they'll keep doing it unless more posts like this get published. Thanks for your words and comments! :)
-
Sounds like a big lawsuit and they will definitely loose this one considering the promise made before the TTK came out... Practically forced players into it with the 2.0 update, what a shame...!

I'm still waiting for an explanation for why they told us the shotgun nerf would only be 10% and then ended up being 45%.
