During the mission Outbound Signal, you are dispatched to stop the Cabal from transmitting a signal to the Cabal Empire for help, as all of their leaders have been killed. You stop the signal, but it is heavily implied that the signal reached the Empire.
My theory is that in Forge of Gods, that help will arrive.

Also, in the Cabal Champions grimoire card, the final line of the card states, "The Empire will have no choice but to respond. " This gives even more evidence that the cabal will come for us soon.
But we will be ready.
Is this the next expansion?
-
Bump.

I hope so. After a full year of end-game being mainly against the more enigmatic enemies, I can't wait to see how they'll handle a setup where the enemy's only draw is sheer military power.
-
I could tell you the reall story but I can't explain why I don't have time to explain...
-
Oryx and the Taken army had the Cabal on the run in the first place. Now, with Oryx dead, both in our and the ascendant realm. The Cabal army has nothing more to fear. You'd think they'd be the slight bit grateful. We killed the thing that had them on the run for years. What makes them think they can take us?
-
We beaten the hive fallen and vex it only mskes sense the cabal actually send in their fleet to find out what happened to their last one. After all anything that called oryx must be a threat to their empire too
-
Exactly my thoughts, it shows up in grimoire cards too.
