Sorry for the delay, had a bit of a set back.
The third part of the chief kills destiny saga. Enjoy!
Part three: Test of the Sage Knight
Chapter one
Chief inspected his newly acquired weapon. A light, sleek design, well balanced, and made out of what seemed to be a plastic-like material. Much lighter than the weapons of the UNSC. An orange V was painted on it's white frame.
"What is that?" Cortana asked jarick, who was equipping himself with his own armaments.
"Thandard ithue Vangaurd Auto Rifle, many guardianths of the thower use them."
"Well chief, guess you've found your poison."
"What's the mission?" Chief asked Jarick, prepared for the task at hand.
"You'll find out thoon enough, but firsth, meeth the theam."
Two more "guardians" entered the armory.
One of them was rather small, and while chief was larger than most people, this man was smaller than any he's seen before. He wore a long, tattered cloak, which revealed nothing of his face but his yellow visor.
His armor looked as if it had seen many battles. Burns and old blood were scattered across his chest piece. Very noticeable on his glimmering silver armor. Regardless of his size, he appeared to be a battle hardened soldier.
His movements were far less , "Child like" than the rest of those here. Unlike Jarick, who always leaned forward and looked around constantly as he traversed the courtyard.
But then chief noticed something rather, beautiful, even to his eyes that had seen nothing but war and death. At the cloaked man's side, was a golden revolver, it's barrel long and thin, its body glimmering in the dim light of the armory.
With black markings etched into the sides of the rather exotic weapon. The weapon appeared as alien as it was human.
Chief found himself staring at it before quickly looking back at the cloaked man.
"Shin Malphur, hunter" the man said as he reached his hand out to chief.
Chief didnt reciprocate the handshake, shin took his hand back and nodded as if he understood.
Chief then observed the second "Guardian" he was much bigger than shin, though his height still did not match that of chief's. His armor looked very familiar, much like MJOLNIR spartan armor. Chief then looked at the man's face. Covered by a white helmet with a blue visor, which had a rather large bullet hole in it.
Chief then realized this was the man he shot earlier, how was he alive?
"Be lucky my ghost brought me back, I would've haunted your ass in the afterlife."
Chief cringed behind his helmet at this "guardian's" attempt at intimidation, or whatever that was. Cortana was doing the same from the contents of her chip.
"Quip Rosco, Titan" the man finished as he stood up straight.
"You already know me, I'm jarick, warlock. And thith ith fireteam Zulu!"
"Atleast something has a good name around here" cortana said quietly to allow only the chief to here her.
"So Sage Knight, what class are you?" Quip asked, very curious on the subject.
"I'm not a-"
"Spartan, just... Spartan" cortana interrupted, obviously tired of this talk of "classes" and "guardians".
" Thpartan?! I've never heard of that clath before!"
"Yeah, what do they do?!"
"Whats your sup-"
"Whats the mission?" Chief asked again.
"Rigggth, the mithion. Shin, do that uhhh, briefing thing pleathe"
These guardians were nothing but children.
Shin cleared his throat. "There's a fallen walker outside of the city gates, its heavy firepower has been laying siege to the city's gates for days, the civilians are in danger. And we need to take it out."
Just as Shin finished his so called "briefing",a loud explosion was heard in the distance
"Oh no.... The gates!" Quip yelled as he grabbed his weapons and ran out of the armory.
"FIRETEAM ZULU TO THE FRONT GATES" a loud voice boomed from an intercom that could be heard throughout the tower.
More explosions, and the screams of women and children good be heard from the city streets, smoke was in the sky. All too familiar to chief....
Quip stood at the edge of the tower, where so many jumped to their deaths repeatedly. Surveying the city.
"By the traveler.." Said Quip with terror in his words.
Shin stood beside him, watching the same scene of violence and horror.
"That's alot more than just one walker." Shin said, quietly.
Jarick walks up to them see what they were talking about, now wearing a helmet that appeared to have the horns of a ram attached to it. A species long gone since the human covenant war.
He observed for a little while, surprisingly not saying a word for once.
He then bursted out, screaming
"THIT! THIT THIT THIT THIT! What are we going to do?!"
Chief needed to see what was happening. He walked to the edge of the tower with the others and looked down on the city...
Bodies littered the streets, many buildings were destroyed. Flames and smoke rising from their rusted frames. And then he saw it,
A large, six legged metal beast, it looked very insect like, with many "eyes" looking in all directions. A large cannon was mounted on its back, along with a set of turrets, destroying everything in its wake. He came to the conclusion that this was the walker he was meant to destroy.
But there was something else contributing to the destruction....
Chief saw them, a group of what appeared to be tall, four armed creatures attacking civilians and ransacking buildings. They fired what seemed to be plasma based weapons, tearing through those who fled.
He then noticed another, larger than the others standing on top of the walker, giving orders to his soldiers in an unknown alien tongue.
They oddly reminded him of the sanghelli he fought in the human covenant war, but there was something more...savage about them. They did not appear to carry out their orders with efficiency and honor like the elites. It was like they killed for the sake of killing.
Chief had to stop them, but they were outnumbered, out gunned. he was the one who had to complete this task. This "prophecy", the only thing that could allow him to return home, demanded it. He was to stop this marauding force with inferior numbers and firepower.
But he's beaten greater odds.
" John..."
" Fireteam Zulu, Mobilize"
Chief jumped from the edge of the tower. Like those he saw before, throwing themselves to their deaths continuously.
But he would not perish as they did. He would hit his mark, he would descend upon these marauders and their senseless killing.
Chief listened to the childish screams of fireteam Zulu as they too jumped from the tower. Chief only looked forward, silently, deciding on who was going to be first....
It's been four years.....
It's about time he got his hands dirty......

I seriously don't think the chief can solo any of the vaults.
