I have got refunds from Amazon for the Vanilla, and from Microsoft for the DLCs. Had to ask to be bumped to a Manager at Microsoft because the first operator was clueless, but getting a refund from them was easy - because there is a problem and these retailers know it! If you are not happy with what Bungie have done, get the refunds. They ARE giving refunds>
