EDIT 1: I seem to be getting a lot of similar replies, usually directed at claiming Destiny is not a "subscription" service and that we the players "own" the game. I'm sorry boys and girls, we do not own anything. We paid for a liscence to access Destiny's content; content which is subject to change or even be removed for those who don't update their liscence. This was all outlined in the EULA you blindly accepted a year ago.
Yeah but it wasn't sold on this basis. In something like GTA V did you find that after owning it for a year or two if you go back you find that now you cannot access Sandy Shores any more and you now can only drive motorbikes because you aren't allowed to access the cars any more? I have TTK and I'm loving it but it still violates a principle that you don't deny existing stuff to non upgrading users in order to force them to pay.

 • ......for real??? loot - anytime we get a legendary drop we must be level 40 to equip it but we can't gain experience past 34..... strikes - still there but we can't play any challenging content as we only have access to level 20 strikes crucible - we can only play 2 playlists.... destinys crucible playlist was already adismal when we had access to everything then theres weekly, NF, daily, IB, ToO etc oh n if we play old content our legendary gears buffs have been nerfed below even greens....

 • I have been playing GTA V off and on for a few years now, Xbox360 mostly, but got the Xbox One version about nine months ago. I know that your online characters will lose level if you don't use them for a long time, but levelling up does not cost anything. I have never experienced any lockouts on GTA V and the levelling system is fair and logical. Plus on Xbox One, the scenery is second to none and First Person mode is superb. Combat in first person is especially good, click right stick for iron sights. Much more realistic than "bunny hopping" (fastest draw) games like Destiny. I have quite a lot of trust in Rockstar; cant say the same for Bungie/Activision. So it's GTA V for my friends and I from now on for our social gaming.

 • The old players arent denied anything. They still have acess to EVERYTHING they paid for. The nightfalls and weeklies are endgame content, and must be upgrade to actually be endgame content for the DLC. Old players still have access to all the strikes, missions, and crucible maps they paid for. Nothing is locked except stuff that has to upgraded to become a challenge for the new higher levels.

 • But Nightfalls have been a part of Vanilla Destiny. Now, as the game evolves, so must its content. However, if Bungie had said a a year ago "You will need to invest £80 a year to keep playing ALL content new and old, even though we will continously do what we can to remove as much of the old as we can (such as weapons and armour no longer available" would you have questioned what type of game Destiny is? Couldn't they have kept a Nightfall mode in that only show if you don't own The Taken King?

 • exactly although if they had been honest with a subscription how many people would have actually bought Destiny?
