When I got to the speaker with my hunter, it does the turn in screen to collect the thorn, but there is no option but the "not now" and it does this every time I go to the speaker.

I've had issues in dealing with quests involving talking to the Speaker as well. The best short work around I've come up with is to log out (change characters) and come back in.
