This is a very, very poor analogy. If Bungie wants to make it subscription-based, hey, I'm all for it. I'll pay it. That said, locking content that was previously accessible so you have to buy yet another expansion is just bad business. You die-hard fanboys can gripe all you want in response to complaints, but it's not going to change a damn thing. Like someone further down the thread stated, "It's like saying you can't watch the season finale of House of Cards season 1 until you purchase season 2." I'd say that about covers it. I bought the TTK for my Xbox One, but didn't for my 360. There's a plethora of cut content. Bungie beating around the bush to access funds to keep game servers running isn't helping their cause one bit. I'll have to admit I'm enjoying the new DLC, but that said, finally getting my hands on Year One exotics that are now useless until they're possibly included in another expansion was also a bad approach. I've been around in the video game scene all the way back from the Atari 2600 days until now. All I see are companies using a veil of good PR to promote content lacking in effort and creativity, generally re-skinning old content (Call of Duty, I'm talking to you). This is very evident in the first two expansions of Destiny. Granted, TTK is a huge step above what was a "pay to play and fix our mistakes" beta, but it's still no excuse to lock access to Destiny's most fun and appealing content to players who aren't or haven't yet bought TTK. Try again.

What are you locked out of though? You can still play the old raid and the old strikes and crucible all you like you are most certainly not locked out of any pervious content.

As a reddit post stated: Daily, Weekly heroic and nightfall missions are all gated off. Now it's not to say that these won't cycle through to older missions, but bungie seems to have set the new game to 'only level 40' mode, so who's to say that next week won't be undying mind with a level 40 requirement slapped on it? All Vendor gear is now locked, old vendor gear is gone completely and I'd assume unobtainable. The only gear that you can buy is from your vanguard mentor- uncommons with few perks and only some with 170 defense ratings. The vanguard legacy playlist is a shadow of what the old vanguard strike playlists were, providing paltry rewards and seemingly no legendary gear- compared to what you could do two weeks ago. All "kill objective" missions while patrolling lead to Taken, who you are unable to kill due to the high level difference. This effectively renders them unbeatable unless you have a fire team member who owns the expansion. crucible now only lets you select between random 3v3 or 6v6 match types, which is paltry compared, again, to what you could do two weeks ago. Level select on missions is gone, you can only do the mission on the default difficulty- this devalues content even as there are legacy quests being re implemented to give gear with 2.0 the wandering wolf packs are gone, along with being able to level up queens wrath (at least I haven't found any way besides grinding the story missions endlessly). Doesn't seem like there's a way to earn legendary marks, so you can't purchase planetary materials. Back to farming Venus for some more spirit bloom, then. all Eris bounties are gone, and her item selection has been culled (so that's what, half of the dark below?)

Well, the different level strikes for starters (Level 20 is the only one I see). Nightfalls would be another. Weekly's. Unless something has changed recently, of course. I'll take a look tomorrow. I'm a bit down and out from surgery today.

The endgame content which was not locked in any of the previous DLC packs. What bungie did was downgrade the experience you have w/o the dlc to convince you to buy it.

What endgame content? The new raid? Trials? IB? Nightfall? Those are all features that's only exist as endgame content. Without paying for the DLC you aren't at the endgame so clearly you can't access end game activities.

IB, and the weekly strikes were not locked unless it was on a dlc map. ToO was part of DLC so it doesn't count, sane with the raid.

Well considering the weekly strike no longer exists for anyone I don't really see your point there. For IB it's like how your not allowed to enter unless you at least level 20 now it's just lvl 40.

There isn't a weekly heroic anymore? I hadn't noticed. Anyways the nightfall is also a weekly strike. "Weekly Nighfall strike". Anyone who enters IB is stuck at the HoW level cap and will get their shit wrecked.
