To everyone ripping OP, you know he has a point. At any moment Bungie/Activision could decide Destiny isn't worth it anymore and completely shut down the servers, effectively turning the game you "own" into a $60 ($100 for Year One's) coaster.

The shut down of the game servers is inevitable. It is acceptable. What they are doing right now is completely different.

I agree that locking off content because you don't own the DLC is complete shit, because using OP's example, it's like Pandora. Unless you pay extra, you get limited to what you can enjoy. (Granted Pandora isn't the best example but it works.)
