Trying to compare a subscription based movie rental service thing to a video game that you outright buy is kinda off. I think people are mad because it'd be like buying a car and enjoying it for a year then having the AC and breaks removed by the dealership because they want you to buy to 2016 model.
EDIT: Yes bad analogy, I know and also I read the EULA I was just trying to justify why some people could be upset by this.

A MMO which is a subscription based service
-
Destiny isn't an MMO, it's a FPS with MMO elements frankly.
-
Its an MMOFPS
-
MMOFPSWTFBBQ Indeed.

Keep up the good work. The internet needs people like you :)

"Well, i was just fine with the old busses, the new busses dont have enough content to be worth the price" well, now there is no old bus, and it looks like your -blam!-ing walkin'. If you think you own your copy of destiny, youre severely mistaken.
-
The thing is though they never advertised the game as such a thing, so its understandable that some people would be upset right?
-
All online multiplayer games are this. Did they hide the eula from you? People dont own anything anymore.
-
Again, I specified "other people" I have read the the EULA. It sucks though, especially when they decide to shut down severs.
-
The lines become blurred when the game you "outright buy" is a persistent game being actively maintained and supported.
-
True enough.
-
Except it's not "kinda stupid" my friend. Read the EULA. You paid for a liscence to access an ever-changing platform. You do not own Destiny, you own a liscence to play it, possibly in limited capacity unless you continue paying for it. Like it or not, this is the future. Educate yourself, read the EULA.

Yeah I've read it, I didn't say I think that I own the game friend. I said "I THINK THATS WHY OTHERS ARE MAD" sucks for them.
-
No that's an even worse analogy. This game is pay to play. It's basically a rental. RENT. No one owns anything, which is what people are having a hard time with.
-
Oh like MMOs with subscription fees. People aren't locked out of content. They still keep their content, they just don't get the features. In which the features provide NEW content. So if course they're not able to play it.
-
Guess you're right, it was a shitty analogy but that's WHY people are pissed. They feel like they own the game when they don't.
-
A car really? You just smashed the OP for his comparison to a movie subscription and then you go and compare a 60$ game to my 34,000$ car. That my friends, is a moron.

Edited by xcrimsonlegendx: 9/17/2015 5:17:25 PMlol It wasn't the price of the object that was the point my friend. Would it have been more acceptable to you if I used something more down to Earth like you coffee maker?
