So I've paid for Netflix for an entire year! I've invested so much time into Orange is the New Black and House of Cards, I even grinded every episode of Friends last month! Now, I log in today and all of it is gone! I can't even watch movies that I have been able to watch for a full year!
I don't get it. I've been a loyal customer for a year, and just because I stopped paying, I get locked out of content. Well I wont be giving them my business anymore, scammers.
Do you get it now?
EDIT 1: I seem to be getting a lot of similar replies, usually directed at claiming Destiny is not a "subscription" service and that we the players "own" the game. I'm sorry boys and girls, we do not own anything. We paid for a liscence to access Destiny's content; content which is subject to change or even be removed for those who don't update their liscence. This was all outlined in the EULA you blindly accepted a year ago.
EDIT 2: "LIMITED USE LICENSE: Bungie grants you the non-exclusive, personal, non-transferable, limited right and license to install and use one copy of this Program solely for your non-commercial use. All rights not specifically granted are reserved by Bungie. The Program is licensed, not sold, for your use. Your license confers no title or ownership in this Program, and should not be construed as a sale of any rights in this Program."
EDIT 3: Jesus this is still going, this is fantastic. It looks like the verdict is roughly about 50/50 on people agreeing with me, or calling me some derivative of the word retard. To each their own I guess. I'd hope you guys get this worked up when Norton Antivirus tries to charge you for updates, and then removes features when you don't pay. Because, you know, you bought a disk, so you're clearly entitled.

I DESERVE TO PLAY NEW CONTENT FOR FREE THIS DOESNT MAKE SENSE. WEVE BEEN SCAMMED.
you have aids
-
]Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Scrubs on Bungie.net. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. XDeHaan Solox, oh... Wait, I ACTUALLY AGREE WITH THIS. People who don't own TTK are calling Bungie scammers. No, they're not, YOU didn't pay for the Dlc, if YOU can't afford it, it's not THEIR problem.

The thing about analogies and statistics is that they can be used for for both sides of the argument. The EULA is what makes their practice legal but not necessarily right. I see people saying they bought and own the expansions, now I don't know what Xbox had in the description but on the PSN it was stated as a "expansion pass" and to me that implies that it will have a limited life span. The old conract with the devil rule applies in this day and age where you really need to read conditions and terms you accect, because it's the fine print that will get you. I'm on the fence for this one because I can empathize with the people who can't aquire ttk for their own reasons being nut punched with the "downgrade" in content. On the other hand there is alot of bleeting aswell. How long until there is a class action challenge launched in the land of litigation? Any bets? Lets see how that pans out. A good enough lawyer can argue that the cat did a dogshit on the carpet and sue the horse because if it.

I feel ya Preach brother!
-
Pretty good analogy. Bungie could have been more up front about how it was going to work though. Most of the people complaining must be kids and teenagers that just can't afford to buy the expansion. If people really like the game that much and spend so much time playing it then surely they can spare $40 to get the expansion. What is that, 5 or 6 takeaway meals you miss out on?
-
Seems a little off topic to me.
-
No it would be like if you bought a movie with special features and an alternative ending. Then a sequel comes out and you don't buy it then they take away all your special features
-
Best post ever.
-
I -blam!-ing love this comparison. 109% accurate
-
This is a terrible comparison. Can't believe people are still defending this game
-
A subscription is different than a one time product purchase. I bought all the DLC's, and the taken king in physical collectors edition, I'm not a cheap skate, but i also agree that whoever bought this game before shouldn't lose the things they were able to do before.

Edited by Storm Shadow l: 9/24/2015 8:24:15 AMYou can get a full refund on house of wolves and dark below from xbox live if you ring up. I also got a full refund on my vanilla disc from amazon citing the content lockout taken king has caused.
-
Hehe your post made me quite happy thank you for it. I agree
-
It's more like, I bought Star Wars: A New Hope, and have been watching it for a year, but I chose not to buy The Empire Strikes Back. Because I didn't buy part 2 of the trilogy, I lost access to A New Hope and can't watch it anymore! Or for the ladies. I bought season one of Pretty Little Liars, and because I didn't buy season two.... Ahhh you get the drift.
-
Who would buy destiny and not get dlc or the latest expansion. The free people still get content but they should expect to pay for shit eventually.
-
Edited by High Charity: 9/20/2015 3:11:11 PMKiddie doesn't understand that paying for and owning a game is different than paying for a subscription. That's adorable.

Lol. As if you have a choice. In order to play Destiny you have to accept the EULA, what else can you do? Yeah, Bungie is indeed lawful good , they make their own rules after all. Anyway, as the matter of fact. Many Year 1 contents were removed, simplified or inaccessible. Don't give me the BS: "Every thing is still there". Nope, your distorted opinion can't change facts. Want to check? Log in and see yourself. Will update later, I am sleepy now. I can argue with you all year long. PS: i do buy TTK, so any rude and stupid remarks such as stop being poor or get a job are useless. Mind your tongue

This is the best post in this category I've seen. No it's not a "subscription" service but its damn well basically the same -blam!-ing thing. If half the self entitled morons read the EULA they agreed to when they started playing...well ... we still would have this problem lol People just think because they payed for this it means they own the rights. We have the software available to us so that we can access these items and content. None of it is stored on our console we don't own shit! If bungie wanted to wipe all the exotics we just farmed from 3 of coins they could! That's their right. We may not be being billed monthly but its the same thing. The expansion cost was our subscription fee until the next bit of dlc comes out. They have the right to change and remove whatever the -blam!- they want! We paid for access not for rights! We own the right to play what they have the right to change!

Weirdest thing, I stopped putting gas in my car and now it won't run. I called GM and they won't give me a refund. -blam!- them im done using cars.
satire
-
WOW you too? Damn i stopped giving money to my cellphone company and my cell doesnt work anymore :/ -blam!- these guys
-
I watch Firefly on Netflix. Firefly is starred by Nathan Fillion. Nathan Fillion voices Cayde-6 on Destiny. I play Destiny. I totally see the connection. Thanks M8!
-
You know what's worse than this? When you stop paying your bills and now credit card companies won't loan you any money!!! What a scam!!!
-
Same thing man it's stupid.
-
Bungie doesn't let you know "you will be paying this much per month/year/expansion". If they did a lot of people would not have bought it. If bungie was straight forward with customers like Netflix your lame analogy might not be so shit. I get it OP, you like sounding smart and telling "dumb people" what's up. Being a bungie-bitch doesn't make you sound smart though, it makes you sound lame.

My problem is not buying new content, it's the price of being a y1 player and wanting to be a y2 player... It's too much unfortunately... I mean a y2 player can pay 60 in Ireland right now. Me, a y1 player, paid 100... Essentially if I want to become y2 I need another 40... This basically means a y2 player gets what I got for 20...... That stings a little too much to continue when I can get a few hundred more hours out of something else for 40-60 and never have to think I paid 140 total for this... It's value for money... If I was a starting y2 player having never paid or played this before that would be excellent, I would still feel bad for anyone paying so much for not a lot compared to other games which arguably and subjectively could be considered "better"

Must be tough for people to grasp the concept of having to actually pay for something now a days. Luckily, I have a job and money so I don't have to worry. While everyone is salty on the forums I'll be playing TTK :)
