I've always been iffy of the traveler. I've been reading the book of sorrows (hive backstory) and it was bc of the traveler that oryx (Aurash) and his two siblings (Xi Ro and Sathona) are who they are now. The travel aligned the the 52 moons of their planet (fundament) which caused the water to go up (like high and low tides) and caused something similar to a tsunami and wiped their race. Aurash and siblings left beforehand bc their father prophesied this event to happen... [spoiler]i can continue to summarize the book of sorrows if you want [/spoiler]
