Well it depends on the attack values of course, but yeah it doesn't go all the way to what the higher level item was you're right.
So you dont think it's worth it. See I'm still trying to decide. Thanks for the help!

Depends on what you're infusing. I took a crap level legendary ghost and infused it up into the 200s because of multiple perks that I liked. Same with my sword. The bigger the difference between the two pieces, the bigger the increase you get.
