Im really upset now. In the cutscene it showed Oryx kind of using radioactive waves to destroy all the awoken AND the Queens ship.
Does that mean she is dead?
In the grimoire it is stated that her brother landed on Mars and the Queen is reported as "missing".. Thoughts anyone?
Edit : Thank you all for your replies , currently reading them all and learning new stuff I never knew

I feel like Mara met the Stranger on Mars and somehow sent her back in time to recruit the guardians and lead them to the Vex, which in turn led them to assist the queen. Interesting theory but it's hard to picture how she met the stranger.

Edited by GayGUYDidThat :3: 9/30/2015 2:15:57 PMi love the queen so much that i built the ketch the she has but its heart breaking that she mite be dead why did have 2 die

Edited by TheMegalovaniac: 9/20/2015 4:56:01 AMFrom a writing standpoint, considering bungie wants this to last ten years, it's way too early to kill off such a prominent character, unless the writers are trying to do a game of thrones style of character life expectancy, which contradicts with the overall tone the series has had so far. Short version: not likely, Mara's too badass
-
Yeah she's alive.
-
Not dead. They wouldnt do that. Taking a hiatus of sorts?
-
No, because that would mean destiny has a story. Lol
-
Bro, be considerate and change the title
-
The vanguards dialogue was kind of implying that she's alive somehow
-
Hey man, you should change that title because of spoilers. Some people haven't had a chance to play it yet. But yea, the impression I got was she did it as a sacrifice to help weaken Oryx to allow us guardians to land on the dreadnaught and take it out.
-
Sadly.
-
She's alive for sure. The Queen wouldn't be stupid enough to throw all her forces all at once at an enemy as powerful as Oryx, she did what she did on purpose and will most likely return later in the game series.

Edited by Dead General X: 9/18/2015 6:35:55 AMOut of principle, you really really should change the topic title. It's a big spoiler for those who haven't gotten TTK yet. Maybe later we'll find out she's still alive. Probably all a trick I'm guessing and part of some genius plan of hers. Maybe to trick Eris for some reason? Maybe Eris isn't as good as we think she may be.

Edited by Corrick II: 9/20/2015 3:33:12 AMThe story missions and quests make it sound like you're tracking her down. I really doubt Bungie would kill off one of the only interesting characters in the game.
-
I'm sure she is still alive otherwise those techeun witches were powerful to what use ?

Edited by KayOsS882: 9/20/2015 3:24:00 AMTell you a secret. She's at my titans bungalow right now. I made her breakfast and told her I'll be back by sunset. Pretending to die was the only way to get her clingy brother to move out. But after she saw my gjallyhorn, she decided to stay.
-
That's what were expected to believe.
-
I don't believe she's dead. One reason is because we didn't actually see her die.

Edited by Killer Orca: 9/20/2015 2:00:17 AMI doubt she's dead. Judging from the wreckage around the Dreadnought (in the skybox outside Hull Breach), there's several Ketch's that are still mostly intact (including one that seems to be venting a gas that I think might be atmosphere). If Oryx's shitty energy weapon couldn't even shatter a Ketch completely, then its more than likely the Queen survived. Officially she's MIA.
-
I believe Petra stated she was dead
-
We're here, we're awoken, and we're outspoken !
-
-
Off topic but am I the only one who disliked her
-
Guess we will find out in Year 3!!
-
Yes she's dead. There's a quest you get later on that mentions she is dead.
-
A conversation between Oryx and a knight mentions the capture of leaders. I assume this included the queen. Her brother likely made it out, but that's my take on the situation.
