I was not informed that if I bought the taken king on the 360 I would not get it on the Xbox one if possible I would like a refund so I can buy the the Taken king on the Xbox one

Happened to me. I don't remember seeing a recent reminder on this, it should have been in our face. If I read it months ago, it was in the weekly update notes somewhere, or it was in the terms and conditions, sorry I stopped reading all of the BS. We should have got an email or an in game notice.

I haven't seen anything yet with people finding a solution. Microsoft said to talk to bungie, but bungie doesn't have a way to directly contact them that I've seen. I don't want to give them another $40 out of principle.

I was looking for a customer service on bungie.net to no prevail. I figured if I can cause a big enough storm on here maybe they'd give me my money back and I can start liking them again

I bought it using PayPal, so I just put a claim for a refund in. It's against Microsoft, but I complained against bungie. Doubt it will work, or anytime soon......

I briefly chatted with Microsoft online here: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/contact-us They said I should talk to bungie, but I didn't see anything on their page other than linking me to help forums.

Well maybe bungie should have shoved something in our face other than twitch/you tubers or websites that they are in line with. We may have noticed and made an informed decision. How do we even ask for a refund?

Sorry they made it very clear from the beginning that the upgrade would only be available upto and including DLC's 1&2 and that TTK WOULD NOT be included in this offer.

No, actually they waited for about three weeks or so after it going on sale/pre-order Before 'deciding' or 'informing' ppl that it would not be cross gen, like TTB and HoW were (still are I think?), even like the full game Was up until end of first (calander) year, i wasn't expecting it to be usable on both gen's personally but am still disgusted by those tactics, no way in a millanium did They Not Already know it wouldn't be a upgradable dlc, very dirty/low, luckily it will prob only affect a few 10's of thousands of people, in other words not really much of a 'profit' for the ( even more) bad rep that is but another 'straw' on camels back, contrary to belief it doesn't need to be the last one to cause a break, (if you know the saying?), all of them add up.
