I'm not saying this will work for everyone but it worked for me an my bf so far:)
We share an Xbox, he downloaded the DLC and it worked for him and not for me.
This how we fixed it!
1. Sign in as the profile you want to use.
2. Plug second controller in and sign in with the person who has the DLC whilst the other account is still signed in (hope this makes sense)
3. So at the moment both accounts are online and the person with the DLC is on the title screen for destiny. Press A on the controller with the account you want to use and continue to the destination screen (map screen) you should see all of the TTK things unlocked.
4. Go to the tower and buy something from the vanguard that's for the new DLC.
5.get the person with the DLC to sign out by pressing the middle button.
5. Get them to turn their controller off and unplug it quickly.
Done! You're in!
I hope this helps! It's worked for me.
I haven't turned my Xbox off yet to see if it remembers that I have the DLC but at least you can play:)

Was doing this, but then my brother, whos account I bought it under connected at his friends house. They were playing COD and I was left with a thumb up my -BAM Also I am a TTKless lvl 39 with Storm class running around wrecking shit up in a rather empty game

Um, what if we can't plugin our controller to the Xbox? What if they are wireless? Tried it and didn't seem to work, trying again.

It should work the same way as long as you turn the controller off (hope that makes sense?) I only said unplug it because if you leave a wired one in it automatically connects (or at least it does for me) Hope this helps:)

Ok it doesn't work when you sign or lag out so you can only play for a bit:( I can't be bothered to faff about it anymore. They're gonna fix it eventually, just have to be patient I guess:(

When you first sign in with the profile you want to use, go all the way to the destiny title screen:)
