Play the story(from the taken king dlc) and you get your legendary gun(s) within 30 minutes, same for the marks

I did. Finished through to where you kill Oryxk. No guns or marks. Unless there's more, but the only thing I was given was to go set up patrol beacons on the dreadnought.

There are more missions and you should have gotten a legendary gun in one of the first missions after that. You finish them in no time since it is way too easy most of the story. I've gotten by now 2 legendary guns. and 50 marks with the missions.
