After my holder was betrayed by Taox and his knights, the eldest offspring, the Lone Navigator seized the opportunity to carry me, and tend to my council. I wheedled and guided Aurash and the other two sisters to a ship capable of burrowing through the base of the Fundament, to move beyond their reality before the Syzygy and the resulting tidal wave smashed their reality... As soon as they agreed to take me and mine into themselves, and allow our larvae to breed and feed on the Needle, their Destiny was sealed. Nature and Ego took its course, and a Universe was set to suffer as often and varied as possible. Only the strong are fit to exist... and aren't you the strongest of all, oh Guardian mine?

[spoiler]This story of Aurash becoming Oryx and creating the Hive himself(herself) is amazing. If a quarter of this story were included in the game it would change so much. Not to mention the implications of the Ahamkara being the true Hive Gods... If the Deep truly are the Ahamkara as it is hinted at, then would this make them the Darkness? Oryx is so much more interesting than I ever assumed. Some of his quotes are almost inspiring in a twisted sort of way. [quote] "I learned that I had to become most ruthless of all. 12 RepliesAfter reading the whole book. I believe that eris at the end of the story is talking to one of Oryx's sisters, because they always are trying to kill each other. I believe that the smart sister had eris help the light to defeat him so she can step in and take power. If you have read the book you know that oryx and his sisters split up to each gain power, because there presences were holding each other back. Oryx even says that he is worried about his siblings, stating that they may even have surpassed him in power. Keeping all of this in mind I believe that eris is a traitor, but is working against oryx so that a different hive ruler can take over. So as she says "my queen" she is not talking to Mara sov, but one of Oryx's sisters. Thought?
