Okay I have a two-fold question here...
1) Can two players with two Xbox 360s play at the same time via one digital copy of the game? Or do I need to buy two copies?
2) If I get the Destiny Digital Collectors Edition and install that on an Xbox that currently uses the disc + 2 DLCs is there any pitfalls I need to know about?
To clarify further... we have an existing Xbox 360 with the original Destiny disc and the two DLC downloads. There are two Xbox Live accounts that play the game (my son and myself) and we obviously have to take turns. We're looking to buy a second Xbox to put in his room, so we can both play at the same time.
I've heard conflicing information that if we were to purchase the digital version on Player A's account (my son) on Xbox 360 #1 (man cave), then that would allow him to also download it and play it on Xbox 360 #2 (his room), at the same that Player B (me) plays on the Xbox 360 #1... is this correct?
Also... would I need to uninstall anything from the original disc + downloaded DLCs that we already have on Xbox 360 #1? Can I just make the digital purchase, install and good to go? It's all very fuzzy in any documentation I've found. I assume that our characters are safe no matter what since they live on Bungie's servers and tied to our Xbox IDs? It would be horrible to mess something up and lose our characters or screw up my game install somehow.
Thanks for any advice on your experiences!

Edited by Punch: 9/14/2015 9:30:08 PMWell since no one bothered to post a response (thanks Activision/Bungie), I can now answer my own Question #2. I couldn't talk my kid out of spending his own money to buy the digital version of Taken King CE, so i downloaded it for him. Here's my experience of going from disc to digital with Taken King CE on Xbox 360: -- We already had Destiny, Expansions 1 & 2, and the recent update 2.0.0.0 (yeah i know, we could've saved $20-40, don't get me started) -- After purchase, It first downloaded the core Destiny App again at 6gb+ size. This took a while. -- Then it downloaded all the CE content, expansion pass etc which were all tiny and done very quickly. -- After you dismissed the Active Downloads window from all the stuff above, it then popped another one to download Expansion 1 and 2, This also went very quickly, either it was more tiny "pass" stuff or it read that we already had both the expansions already installed from our previous one. Not sure. -- Then it got a little confusing, I kept trying to launch the "Collector's Edition" game in "My Games" and it would then prompt me to download it all again, which i did once. It started the core Destiny download from 80% and ran through everythign very quickly but still I couldn't get the game to start. -- It wasn't until i clicked on the "Destiny" game in My Games that it actually ran. I was thinking that was my physical install and the Collectors Edition was my digital install but that's apparently not the case. -- Once the game ran, everything was as you would expect. His Collectors Edition content was waiting for him at the Postmaster. It seems to just convert your physical to a digital version. There's no need to uninstall anything as far as I can tell. -------------------------------------------- Note on The Taken King Collector's Edition exclusive content: -- The class items were all 170 light, and exotic which means you can't have other exotic armors equipped with them. They grant 25% for subclasses, and 10% for leveling when wearing them. That 170 light seems kinda chincy, especially for something we paid $20 for. I'd gotten a 180 light bond from just doing the normal sunsinger quests this week on my character. -- The class emotes are kinda neat I guess. One for each class, they each get a special dances. -- The shaders were all looked pretty cool. Each class got their own, plus the first character got the Suros shader and emblem. -------------------------------------------- Notes for people with multiple Destiny accounts on their Xbox 360 consoles: -- Unlike the Day 1 Tumbler Sparrow, however, and much to my further annoyance, they DO NOT allow these items to be shared with users on your console. ONLY THE PURCHASER GETS THE COLLECTORS EDITION CONTENT SO MAKE SURE YOU PURCHASE IT ON THE CORRECT ACCOUNT. -- Not only that, but everytime I start up Destiny now on my account (I purchased CE on his account) I get what looks like an Active Download screen flash by then another screen that says there are "no items available for download." -- Then I get a Destiny Error Code Boar, that tells me my "Expansion content appears to be damaged or cannot be loaded. Please re-download and try again." -- But if I go to the Collectors Edition in My Games it will not start (assume that's because I'm not the purchaser). -- If I dimiss the error code, everything seems to play just fine, way to bug-test your DLC installs Activision/Bungie. After calming down from all the Invalidate-your-efforts-from-year-one that has happened with Update 2.0.0.0, I've been trying not to let it bother me so much and just enjoy playing with my kid again, but its hard. Feels like at every turn I'm getting screwed over in some way by Activision/Bungie, for a game I REALLY want to like. Not being able to share a few shaders and emotes with your immediate family is weak? Even CoD lets DLC carry across immediate users....but noooo, not Destiny. It just seems like yet another way of trying to get $$$ out of us, if I want them on MY characters, which won't be happening. -------------------------------------------- You'll have to look for the answer to #1 elsewhere. Despite my indications in the OP, we won't be buying a second Xbox for Destiny now. I find myself not nearly as enthusiastic to play lately due to all the forced obsolence (lack of 10yr characters) and money-grabbing going on. My playtime has tapered severely since Update 2.0.0.0. We'll see if TTK content makes me forget about all the useless grinding, but I doubt it.
