ward of dawn can protect/save an entire fireteam while giving them shields/weapons of light and it can secure strategic positions against entire teams with only one person.
nightstalker keeps a couple enemies in place that were going to get wrecked anyway

And can boost the attack defense and ability acquisition of allies, plus while bound enemies can't use any unique abilities and such and take increased damage. Unless you are only wearing saint 14 helm exclusively, enemies can't easily walk in and kill anyone inside the ward. Trust me, nightstalker is way better than you think.
