The gun is mostly shooting blanks and very inconsistent. I think the 111 bug was the biggest issue for this gun. The complaints on Thorn trickled over to TLW.
I just think Bungie should look into it because it's just a beautiful gun. I agree the 111 made this gun broken but otherwise it still required some getting used to for it to be effective in Crucible.
-
The weapon works fine if used as intended.
-
-blam!-ing hell you people are shit and always need your crutches to get along, TLW is completely fine right now, stop relying on glitches and adapt for gods sake..
-
I kind of agree. I was doing a quest which requires the last word in the crucible. I have to hip fire and hope to get a headshot just to kill someone fast enough in a 1v1. 2v1, forget it. Its not even worth using anymore, even for an exotic. Once I finished that quest, i put the gun back in the vault.
-
I agree. At the moment there are still some last word haters. It seems they don't understand weapon balancing, but instead want a punitive response to what used to be an imbalance. As it is, the last word has been nerfed too much. There was no need for the over reaction by Bungie. A few subtle tweeks would have been more than enough.
-
I would actually take back all the bad things I have said about Bungie if they fixed my last word (but not about Activision).
-
Nah its fine as is. Any buff now will just cause an exodia obliterate nerf in the future.
-
Yeah it is like an exotic side arm lol I was trying to use it on the jolly holiday quest and its so bad. You got to be in shotgun range to be any good, but then you get one shot by enemy shot gun. All other primaries can melt you before you can close in and by the time you get you as well use a shotgun instead.
-
Admittedly, the base range and stability nerfs to this gun were surprising and perhaps not needed.
-
The range and accuracy nerf it took made it essentially unusable. You'll win a close range encounter some of the time... And anything over very close range you're fighting a losing battle. I agree that when in skilled hands you just beast people, and it needed to be reevaluated; but the lack of range on it now is completely laughable. The base range dropoff all hc took was probably good enough, but nuking the range further along with stability... Killed it. RIP Last Word...Jaren Ward has been waiting for you.
-
It's supposed be be weapon balancing. They're still way out of balance.
-
Agreed. Bungie went way overboard with the nerfs of hand cannons. All they had to do was nerf the DOT on thorn and buff everything else. Now, the hand cannons, especially the exotic ones are trash.
-
They need to give The Last Word it's blue accents.
-
Lel. Still has one of the top TTK's, of course everyone thinks it's fine. They should have left it behind with year 1.
-
I agree 100% Once they fixed the 111 ADS most people would of stopped using it. The only reason it was so OP was because of the ads 111. It required some of a skill to use the gun correctly. I shouldn't have to put 8 bullets into someone and only just win the gun fight. I get left with no health every time.
-
It really didn't. It was basically a high powered Autorifle from version 1.0, that needed to be reloaded more often. Stupid range, inexcusable TTK, and the 111 bug. It has overshadowed most weapons since launch, and with the original HC buff, left little doubt about which was the strongest primary in the game. It had a quicker TTK than the original Mythoclast--think about that. The thing could outgun mid to higher impact machine guns, bro. That is broken, defined.
-
No, it didn't "trickle" down. The Last Word was the God weapon in Crucible. If you could aim worth a shit you wouldn't lose to any gun at close to mid range. It is also the fastest killing gun in the game. It's where it needs to be now. Damage drop off, perfect. Stability, perfect. It was meant as a hip fired weapon to begin with. So you even got bonus accuracy at the hip. You should be thanking Bungie. :)
-
They definitely should reevaluate tlw. I know there was a problem when ads and hits the bonus 111. That was address and fixed but why take away so much range from this gun. The increased recoil is manageable but there is absolutely no range even when running soft ballistic.
-
Bump.
-
Agreed. There are times when I am close and my aim is dead on where it seems like I'm not registering a hit. They absolutely need to take a closer look I think. I thought it was just me thinking this so it's nice to see that others were having the same issue.
-
Hand cannons are a high risk, high reward gun, at close range they should be devastating, but when TLW and Thorn were out sniping sniper guns from across the map, that's a f*cking issue!!! Happy as hell they are where they're at now!!
-
It just doesn't make sense for the guns inspiration
-
Hahaha. Its still waaaay op. Range, fire rate, accuracy, impact. You name it.

As far as I'm concerned, it's fine where it is.
-
Thank you. Sadly, Tlw is no longer a top gun.. It is has been destroyed by 2.0
-
It still performs beautifully in this patch, and I have had a struggle going against it. Make sure you're not too far when you're unloading, or you will have these problems consistently.
