They didn't have online only games when I was young. Closest thing was some BBS MUDs that a couple folks ran.
The first online-only game I played was Everquest. But I was in college by then, and about to graduate at that.
So I put down World of Warcraft, but then I still play that even 11 years later (I was a day one player of it back in 2004, still have my original character).
