Yes.......
343i's "Halo". You'd probably have to pay me in order to get me to play, read, or really have any sort of interest in the story they want to tell. I hated what they were doing with Halo and the direction they were trying to take it in ever since reading Glasslands, though I was willing to give them at least a bit of chance (since Karen Traviss, the author of Glasslands and the other two books in the Kilo-5 Trilogy, is a fairly widely reviled writer in a lot of fandoms and there are lots of people who detest her work) since for the most part since a lot of their other stuff had been at worst average or ok up to that point, Halo 4 was their last chance to redeem themselves and make me want to follow their story. And they absolutely blew it. They continued all of the problems from Glasslands and made them far worse, and that trend has only been continuing and escalating ever since.
Now, all of the Halo stuff that came out when Bungie was still calling the shots and they were the ones in charge of the series and writing for it, I love all of those (games and books) and can't get enough of them. I can't begin to count the times I've read through the Halo books written with Bungie's supervision or that were actually written by the Bungie employees writing the story in the games, or the amount of times I've played through all of the campaigns in Halo CE-Reach or the amount of time I've spent in the multiplayer for Halo 3 and Reach.
