The fact that something as relatively harmless (when compared to nicotine and/or alcohol) like weed is illegal is actually funny.
What's even funnier are the large groups of people that think it's actually morally bad to smoke it, but not morally evil to drink poison/alcohol.
Nicotine and alcohol are both physically addicting and strongly correlate with cancer. Weed has actually been found to prevent testicular cancer (obviously if smoked it could cause lung cancer, but if digested/eaten is completely harmless).

I'm all for making it legal. But everyone needs to stop kidding themselves that it's harmless.

I'm a biology major and did my senior thesis on weed. Unless smoked it is harmless. Alcohol is the true gateway drug and scientific research supports it. I suppose you could argue that nothing is harmless, and technically you'd be correct. However, if digested, weed causes less harm to the body than caffeine. I would argue that caffeine is harmless, but as I said before nothing is technically harmless.
