correct me if im wrong, i dont smoke or anything but one reason i believe its illegal is because if they were to legalize it, the government wouldnt get any profit from it because people can easily grow the plants by themselves and people really do make money from selling it. Govt wants money thats all. thats just my belief though

Yes the idea is to regulate the industry. The government will make money on taxes. They will also save money by not using resources to fight pot dealers and imprison them. Also, it will save every American money because there will be less hospital visits due to overdoses and victims of pot laced with dangerous drugs/substances. So, legalization of pot increases national and local GDP, reduces expenses, decreades the likely hood of overdoses and hospital visits, and gives the American public a substance that is less dangerous than alcohol, tobacco, and caffiene. Its a big win.

What is really about is the incredible usefulness from making food, to creating fuel, and hemp (fiber) production. Those are huge industries. Not the government. All the govt wants is taxes

Government taxes cigarettes. But you're allowed to grow your own tobacco and roll your own smokes. You would be allowed to grow your own weed, but you would have to give a portion to the government if you sell it. They're banking on people being too lazy to grow it themselves.

see thats why im saying, for the people who do grow it though, its not like theyre gonna give up some money to pay the taxes on it, thats why i believe govt wont let it happened because theyre not gonna make money off of it. Its pretty sad that money pretty much runs everything honestly

There's no problem with people growing it for their own use. It's the taxes from the sales that the government will regulate. And a black market might develop to escape the taxes.
