While I am for the legalization of marijuana, I do believe that marijuana is a gateway drug for SOME people. I would have never tried other drugs hadn't been for marijuana.

I would venture to say you probably had caffeine and aspirin before you ever smoke marijuana. So would those be the real gateway drugs?? The whole idea of a gateway drug is utterly ridiculous and was merely a marketing ploy from the 80s.

Considering I have been dabbling in drugs for ten years, that's just not true. Some people take a drink of alcohol or smoke some pot and they will go back to their drug of choice whether it's cocaine, heroin, etc. so that's not true sadly. It might be that their weak minded or have an addictive personality still it stands to be true.

It is a mind altering substance. So SOME people are going to try other substances to see what they are like as well. SOME people. SOME.
refer to my original post if you didn't get the only some part
I am 100% for the legalization. I love marijuana. Having a smoke after work is what I look forward to every day. And has benefited me in so many ways. But back to my original point, SOME people (I'm speaking from experience) will be like whatever, I liked pot, so let's see what this other thing does. Thankfully I have matured since my younger years and realized what the harmful substances I was putting in my body were not good at all. The problem with legalization debates is that everyone (on both sides) is very arrogant and unwilling to hear people out on their views.
