Let me clear up the grimoire=dead ghosts claim.
Ghost account for about 5 grimoire each. Some Ghosts count for 10 or 15 though.
There are 77 dead ghosts.
77x5=385. Let's just round that up to approximately 550. Fair enough?
Only 550 score out of a possible 3620 (xb) or 3665 (ps) can be given to you by finding dead ghosts. While that is a substantial gain, it is not the key factor for a high grimoire.
You say Grimoire doesn't show skill? Let me brake it down.
Where did the other 3,000 points come from? It shows you have played a variety of PvE and PvP content, and that you have done them multiple times. It shows commitment to the game. Whether that is a good or bad thing is up for debate.
Now, grimoire means, for the most part, experience. You do not need a high grimoire score to be good. You can have a natural talent at the game.
But:
talent+experience=skill
When talent is refined with experience, that makes a player skilled.
Being able to analyze the situation and go where you are needed without anyone having to tell you to.
That is why grimoire, to me, means skill.
Usually anyway. I will play with anyone, it doesn't matter to me. But, I will prefer people who have a higher score. I feel I can trust them to know what is going on.

Seeing a lot of people down below saying when they came against bad grimoire players in trials it was an easy win. My team had around 3000 before trials, all day one, never bothered with the ghosts. We smashed teams with high grimoire. Just saying...
-
Grimoire can also mean more time to play and nothing with skill. Not disagreeing with you, just saying. Kind of like prestige levels in the early call of duties.
-
Is my grimoire considered high? What I have was obtained through trying new things after deleting characters multiple times (which is why you'll see a low amount of kills/games that shouldn't make my score possible).
-
Is my Grilmore good enough? I think not!!!
-
This is a good explanation bro. Good post
-
At the time of trails and iron banner I had 2800 grim and I've beat teams that had maxed grim or over 3000 so I say it's bs cause just bc u got low grim doesn't mean you suck or you don't know the game it means sometimes you have a job or family and can't spend hours and hours on in to look on YouTube to find all ghost so I say if your good at game I can tell by the way u play regardless If ur maxed or not I've seen crappie players that are maxed and I've seen good so that's what I think
-
If max on Xbox is 3620, then why do I have 3675
-
I've been playing the game since beta and only have 2985 grimoire score. I have only picked up a few dead ghosts but have most of the playing achievements.
-
Bump.
-
Thank for clearing the air. It's such a simple concept.. Smh
-
I know it's not everything but I'm pretty proud to be over 3100 despite not getting Destiny till May this year, I have GRINDED
-
There are 82 ghosts.
-
I agree

Edited by CookieHott17: 9/13/2015 2:51:25 PMI have 3740 and I'm on xbox!lol -Hyperion-

I've only gathered about 25 Ghosts. If I collected them all, how much Grimoire would I get?
-
Edited by Smash House Breck: 9/13/2015 2:46:57 PMDead ghosts do help inflate your score a bit a bit, and while Grimior does show experience, it doesn't necessarily show skill, which is why it's not the best tool to judge other players by.

say you have a 3k grimoire, and haven't hunted ghosts, you could probably gain around 300-400 grimoire depending on how many you just stumbled across, i know i gained 100 grimoire by hunting 3/4 of earths ghosts
-
Same. But I have screenshots of 34 players with flawless on all three, who are pretty damn good at PvP, can't fault them there, who have a score of under 2000. One time, they even had under 1000. The shame of that day has left a black mark on my brain.
-
Break*
-
I've been here since day one and still don't have 3000 grimoire
-
You need to be a good player to get rumble skirmish and trials grimoire that's a fact , rumble and skirmish is gonna be my stumbling block , just don't have the time nowadays not with the newer game modes out now
-
To me it means time commitment. Given enough time, players can get all the grimoire cards except cards like rumble wins and those can still be boosted.
-
True but I don't think the guys who ghost hunt and grind for grimore are no better than someone who has a score of 2800 or more. Any less than that they will probaley have less exp. But still may be very skilled. But also I have run into many players who have near maxed grimore and are complete shit so I don't really depend on score to judge someone. Sometimes though if I'm running with a random and see they suck I'll look at their score and laugh at the lvl 34 with a 1700 score
-
I will only focusing on crucible later on
-
You said it yourself it's what it means to you. Don't get upset if someone says it doesn't mean diddly to them. Stop being so opinionated.
