To the idiots who say grimoire is only ghosts...
Let me clear up the grimoire=dead ghosts claim.
Ghost account for about 5 grimoire each. Some Ghosts count for 10 or 15 though.
There are 77 dead ghosts.
77x5=385. Let's just round that up to approximately 550. Fair enough?
Only 550 score out of a possible 3620 (xb) or 3665 (ps) can be given to you by finding dead ghosts. While that is a substantial gain, it is not the key factor for a high grimoire.
You say Grimoire doesn't show skill? Let me brake it down.
Where did the other 3,000 points come from? It shows you have played a variety of PvE and PvP content, and that you have done them [u]multiple[/u] times. It shows commitment to the game. Whether that is a good or bad thing is up for debate.
Now, grimoire means, for the most part, [u]experience[/u]. You do not need a high grimoire score to be good. You can have a natural talent at the game.
But:
talent+experience=skill
When talent is refined with experience, that makes a player skilled.
[i][b]Being able to analyze the situation and go where you are needed without anyone having to tell you to. [/b][/i]
That is why grimoire, to me, means skill.
[b]Usually[/b] anyway. I will play with anyone, it doesn't matter to me. But, I will prefer people who have a higher score. I feel I can trust them to know what is going on.

2,600 something doing nothing but basic pve and control almost only. Its just RNG and unlocks. 1/3 of this game is just showing up to raid

High Grimoire shows experience there you're correct. But it doesn't showcase skill you're stats do that.

As some one with Max grimore is only something that shows time played and that's about it. It doesn't show skill it can be an factor in skill but you should only care about someone's score if it under 1800-2000 that means they are new or newish and maybe need some friends with a few things or help doesn't mean they are bad.

I've played less than most "elite" people, I have a full time job which is during grave shift and I've got to get a full 8 hours of sleep or else I'm worthless. That being said, I think anything above 2200 is fine. Some people just aren't bothered with achievements. Granted if I see someone in crucible with a higher grimoire (3300+) then I'll know that they're at least [i]trying[/i] to be proficient at crucible. In PVE however, I don't give a crap about their grimoire. Some people like to get all the achievements, some people just want to play the game, have fun, and not worry about set goals. And that's perfectly fine.

The max grimoire you get from actually farming is around 1000 at absolute most. That just shows experience, not as much for skill. And I had 3565 pre 2.0

9 RepliesHigh Grimoire score does not equal skill. Yes, talent + experience = skill, but you're making the false assumption that everyone with a high Grimoire score has talent. At best, Grimoire score is just an indication of how long you've played the game and how much of it you've completed.

All I care is that people understand Grimoire has nothing to do with skill, and at most can only represent an overall knowledge of the game. A person can complete 100 raids, and never once have touched a relic. But chances are he knows exactly how the raid works. Just my opinion. I've never seen it as skill, just knowledge.

Mine is sub 3000 yet I have Flawless soloed crotas end Was sword bearer on normal/hard (before how) over 100 times Been to the lighthouse Beat all the raids and prison on hard Usually top 2 in crucible (not the greatest but positive kd on my 2 mains) Have 3 34's, one of each class And I enjoy playing for fun which for me doesn't include story mode or patrol anymore. I pretty much only play crucible, raids, and nightfall so I'm lacking in the grimiore department

for me grimoire just means your a experienced player, you've done everything in PVP and PVE and only reason mine is high is because i was having competition with my fireteam

Finally got the dead ghosts today and boosted over 3300.. It's too.difficult to even figure out Wth I'm still missing.. Half of them seemed bugged after looking on destiny tracker

1 ReplyGrimoire is not about skill or talent. It is about completion of content. If you are skilled or talented it will be easier to complete the grimoire tasks though. So it is an indicator more of general experience than anything else. However, I have only beat Skolas once and got the highest grim bonus I am gonna get from that, but I am not necessarily the best guy to take down Skolas ya know?

5 Repliesim glad bungie hidden the grimoire scores, now people who made a huge deal about it will hopefully do it less, im sure i wont check for anyones score since its hidden , so you grimore bragging people just wasted your time doing pointless stuff because i wont see your score anymore
