Impairment should be treated the same as alcohol.
2 of my friends and a 3rd person I went to school with died because of someone was, as you put it "impaired", and drove through a stop sign.
So please tell me again how safe marihuana is.

Someone talking to you while driving impairs you just as much, frankly it's very easy to become impaired enough to screw up operation of heavy machinery, which is why I think all drugs that are even remotely mind-altering should be prohibited from being used while driving, pot included. It's still one of the least harmful drugs in existence and most people probably could drive safely using it, even if they really shouldn't just to be safe.

What? -blam!- off. That is bullshit! You can't concentrate/drive whilst someone talks to u? I do it every day. -blam!- one stage of a military selection course I had to drive whilst getting to a destination at a specific time, whilst asking a person specific questions in order to obtain specific information, and god damn well memorise it. It is easy as shit. You are just -blam!-ing weak and making excuses for your habit.

Lol, distracted driving is a thing dude, I didn't invent it in some pot-addled dream, research has shown that even hands-free telephone conversations impairs people's ability to operate a vehicle, of course it doesn't mean you'll automatically crash but it makes it more likely. Try doing some research next time before talking such utter bullshit and save yourself the trouble of embarrassing yourself.

Edited by Tuxx: 9/12/2015 1:44:49 PMYour friends shouldn't be standing behind stop signs then. I'm not saying it's good to drive stoned but it's nowhere near the danger of somebody who's drunk. I was making a jab at your choice of words.

Could have been worse. You could have been one of the idiots who claim marihuana cures cancer. I would have then had to quiz you on what bob Marley died of.

Edited by PaulM1c3: 9/12/2015 7:16:52 PMSkin cancer... Dont think anyone ever claimed it can cure cancer, but it can lessen the pain so what's the harm in that?
-
I agree it doesn't cure cancer, but it helps with the pain from chemo.

Edited by Tuxx: 9/12/2015 1:59:17 PMHaha, yeah I'm not gonna go that far. I don't think smoking weed is any worse than drinking. They both have the potential for abuse and probably some impairment on driving. Given my personal experience though, I'd say any impairment to driving from smoking some pot is dwarved by the effects alcohol has. I used to smoke so much weed that I was at least a little high 9/10 times I was behind the wheel. I'd smoke before my morning commute to work every day. This went on for years, and I've never had an accident or hit anything in a motor vehicle. I'm pretty sure if I'd been drinking instead that I would've faced some pretty significant consequences from either the law or my own impairment. I've been in the car with a drunk driver before (didn't know he had been taking shots before we got in) and it was one of the most frightening experiences of my life. Luckily we founded out he was drunk when he drove down the street to a gas station and hit a parking barrier 3 times in a row and not from a collision.
