I mean why not?
It is really not all that bad...
It obviously have medical purposes
It is practically impossible to overdose
Marijuana is not addictive
As dangerous as Heroin and LSD.... no...
The only gateway Marijuana would lead you to is the fridge...
If marijuana makes you dumb, you're dumb for thinking that
Tobacco and Alcohol is waaaaaay more toxic than marijuana
Tobacco lobbyist, Alcohol lobbyist, Pharmaceutical lobbyist are the ones fighting the legalization of marijuana to protect their own profits. Considering that we live in a country where the economy thrives from competition, yet these companies are pumping money into to the government to prevent competition to take place.
Remember that the only thing dangerous about marijuana is getting caught with it

They legalized it in my state. There was news footage of a dispensary throwing free pot off of their roof. Want to know why pot should not be legal? Watch the video and just look at the type of crowd that shows up to an event like that...

Edited by CaptainMericah: 9/13/2015 1:49:38 AMMarijuana has a low addiction rate for adults. It's addiction rate is, on average, significantly higher for persons younger than 19. Marijuana lowers memory, reaction time, and mental processing speed, so basically it lowers IQ. Marijuana use also highly correlates with late development of depression and schizophrenia. Edit: I'm not saying I'm against legalization. I've used MJ, but I'm not ignorant to the potential health risks.

I agree
But this really should be in offtopic
Don't do drugs kids, just say no

I just want to say LSD isn't harmful at all. It doesn't make your brain bleed, it doesn't kill your brain cells. It's just a drug. Taking too much of it could destroy your sanity, but as someone who has taken it before (and I stopped taking it after a bad trip) it's probably the more healthy options in drugs. Now I'm not saying do it. Actually DONT. If you don't have the mental capacity, you won't be able to take it. You'll have a bad trip and you'll think really bad thoughts. as far as lethality goes, LSD and weed are the same in that 0 deaths have been caused by simply taking them.

Edited by High Charity: 9/12/2015 10:59:38 PMPractically impossible - I'd actually say borderline, as the amount you'd need to smoke is like 500lbs in less than 15 minutes. You'd die from smoke inhalation long before you'd OD. For people saying "every heroin/coke/meth addict started with marijuana" forgets that they also drank milk long before. Does that mean that milk causes people to do any of those things? No, not at all. Correlation =/= causation.

Do you know how lazy society would become if everyone was high? We're glorifying the wrong side of the drug. We should be using it for medical purposes, not for our own pleasure.

Edited by porygonman: 9/12/2015 11:08:01 PMLook dude, my moms first husband was a drug addict. He started with marijuana. While he was under the influence, his friends got him into cocaine. He then proceeded to get into crack. Then heroin. And one day, he was sent to jail for 5 years. He left two kids and a wife behind. That was 20 years ago. Luckily, she met my father and now she's happy. I'm never getting into that shit. But I do believe that, in preposterously small doses... yes, it could be sold. If it doesn't affect your mind and judgement. But after hearing me out, ask yourself. Do you really want to take that chance?

Edited by SloppyJoeGilly2: 9/13/2015 12:03:15 AMI was, for a very long time, 100% against marijuana. I chock it up to my very conservative and strict upbringing. I got married almost two years ago (I'm 26) and my wife was (yes WAS) an avid user of it. So naturally, we clashed on this issue. I would say there's nothing good about it. That people shouldn't need a drug to escape reality. That it lowered ambitions and causes people to have low expectations of themselves and others. Also, of course, I claimed it was a gate way drug to much other harsher chemicals you can subject your body to. Months and months we argued, always to no avail other than me furious and her contemptuously walking away stating she doesn't want to have conversations with father-in-law anymore. Finally, we sat down one day and she requested that I put my childhood predispositions aside and objectively think about it. So I did. I've done a lot of research and talked to a lot of people on both sides of the isle for the issue and formed my on opinion. I feel that legalizing marijuana would absolutely benefit us. Recreational use, of course would have limitations and laws for privately selling it could be the same as alcohol or tobacco. The tax should be high (as is in Colorado) and amount purchased at once should be limited. Medically speaking, we've yet to see the limitations. It all but cures epilepsy, prescription narcotics could be done away with entirely; cancer patients can actually live their lives comfortably. Finally, the economic boost received from the taxed pot would very much help our financial well-being as a whole. There are always down sides to every aspect of life. But the pros significantly outweigh the cons when it comes to legalization. (That's your TL;DR for ya)
this is in the wrong forum bro
Edited by MadiPPy DADDY: 9/12/2015 11:23:04 PMMJ itself isn't so bad. But it opened the door and curiosity for heavier drugs. Fortunately I was able to get out, not everyone is so lucky. Drugs will grab you by the throat and prevent you from being the best version of yourself, period. Sure, MJ won't take everyone down such a bad path. But you never know if it will take YOU. So why gamble? For medicinal reasons under the advisement of a doctor, go for it. For recreational use, it has no benefits that are worth the potential risks. My advice, just stay away. You aren't missing out on anything, that I can promise. #justsayin

Edited by Red Skyward: 9/12/2015 7:52:27 PMPot causes irregular brain structure which effects memory and intelligence. Also if pot was legalized it would be much harder for teens and kids to stay away from. If I don't want my child to be around stones, best way is to not have it legalized. And about it not being addictive, it can be for many people. Also, it has WORSE side effects on the body compared to tobacco. It can lower your white nervous tissue and can lead to premature alzeimers. Lastly, if we do legalize it in all of America, then why not legalize everything? I believe that is the main reason we shouldn't is that slowly but surely every drug would be legalized and I personally would not want to live in a community where people are stupidly and freely able to do drugs. Edit: You all have the right to believe in whatever you want, and I will not insult you for that, but I too am allowed to believe in what I want to
