After playing a few hours of Rift - Which I now love!!! It seems to me that the scoring his heavily favoring the spark runner, yet it takes the entire team to get the runner to the rift in MOST cases... while I think the runner should get some extra points for the carry, I think some of the current points should be awarded to the runner's team mates... I think we may see some "Spark Hoggers" that just want to lead the scoring and it won't be the best for the team...
REQUEST: Give the whole team points for spark running with the runner only getting a few extra points!

This ^^

What they should do is make scoring the spark give you less points overall so the games last longer
-
Your position or score makes no difference though. When I was playing it seemed nobody was picking up the spark on my team except me. And it was the same for the other team. But in fairness it could be people doing the quest of kills whilst runner is active.
-
They need to divide some of the points when scored to teammates who got kills during the spark being held calling it "paving the way" bonus.
-
Went 32 and 2 in rift... cam in second place... -___- ...despite having cleared the way for the runner time and time again
-
Just looking to play some crucible rift/mayhem either one message through Xbox one GT is crimsonspeed18
-
Yea they do need an adjustment towards this. When I would play with regular squad on pantheon I ran it 3 times as quickly as possible with zero down time. Game over I just a couple mins. Mercy rule. You can just repeat this so easily if you have 6 people.
-
Play with a fireteam. Take turns running. When you play with a matchmade team that will happen. Also the runner is at the most risk when he or she picks up the spark the enemy team knows their position.
-
I usually end up point man for the runner if I'm not running it and while it's very satisfying to watch someone space jam the enemy it would also sweeten the pot if a fraction of the points went to nearby teammates.
-
There needs to be greater emphasis as a team yes. I think they should lower the amount of points the runner gets *just* for running with it (because this can result in lopsided games even if the other team never actually scores!) and increase the amount of points you get for assisting the runner. That's not just kills either but physically being close enough as they earn the points for running it.
-
Ya I have noticed that it would be nice to balance out the scoring. For example if you kill someone that is close to the runner or close to the rift you should get a runner defense points or something of that nature
-
I disagree with that suggestion. When I play with randoms they're usually all over the place trying to be heroes or trying to kill everything. If I pick up the spark with randoms I almost always have to think of some smart way to get to the enemy rift by myself and I always meet at least 3 enemies at the rift. That doesn't even include enemies I have to kill just to make it close to the rift. The points are reasonable in my opinion, To be of some help to you though, I recommend -and they do have the power to do this- that the team score extra points for kills near the runner and near the enemy rift when you have a runner. These points can add up because you'll have your currently available point bonuses + near runner kill bonuses for protecting them + enemy kill bonus if they are near their rift. That seems a bit more logical. Also you should get a bit more points for killing a runner.
-
Agreed, I see a lot of people just leaving the game because they don't score points. This is the winning team to
-
They are giving so much points for the runner so it can make all players take the rift and not just protect
-
Spark hoggers yeah, ppl bunch up on the spark and hold X before its there and try to push you away
-
My team never helps or atleast I don't see them trying, when I play rift on vertigo I always run into the teleport because it takes you straight to their rift, my idiot teammates try and run right through their spawn
-
Who cares how they divide up the points. Not like you get shit.
-
You still have to obtain it while being shot at by six Guardians, The game mode awards initative. It's fine the way it is.
-
Proximity Bonuses (reload speed, shield, speed, etc) for escorting the runner or defending your Rift. Proximity to spark runner or rift if defending would also give point bonuses for kills in the same manner as getting a kill near a control point in Control. For the campers, something to the effect of the Crota death totems for lack of movement for too long could be fun. Random death strikes from above for crouching in a corner with a shotgun could balance things out.
-
Already saw it. One guy had like 7 carried with 2 dunks. Only one other team member got even close to the spark
-
Game mode is unbalanced good thing it's still in beta
-
They need to not give points for kills unless you kill the spark holder cause to many teams sit and play team deathmatch and shouldnt be rewarded for camping its a team objective based game mode.

It's probably to make matches go faster if a team is obviously putting too much pressure on the Spark. Though I think the Spark runner gets way too much for simply running, I don't disagree. But I think it's unfair that they can't use their Supers but have a Speed buff. The speed buff makes public matchmaking a nightmare, because the Runner gets overexcited and rushes faster than his teammates can manage to keep pace with. Then they're getting wrecked and the rest of their teammates follow close behind and get caught in the same chokepoint the runner got caught at. Rift is a terrible game for public matchmaking. But if Trials of Osiris placed a Rift on either side and spawned a Spark when a game takes too long instead of the current Control point in effect, that would be an interesting twist on Trials of Osiris for year two. Lore-wise Warlocks' rifts are the source of the game mode, so it would make sense for the Trials of Osiris to have a little more space magic involved. (The way it will limit all other Supers from being used in PvP but Fireborn is basically unaffected unsettled me, however, but they're always going to tip the tide in PvP since bungie spoils them fanatically.)

Edited by Sunbreaker96: 9/12/2015 3:58:50 AMDefinitely, I personally don't like grabbing the spark but I do enjoy watching my teammates back so he can dunk that shit... Idk I just get a rush of adrenaline when I kill someone to make room for the runner, probably all the teamwork
-
Team mates should gain additional points for kills while another team mate carries the spark. This way the runner isn't guaranteed first and everyone has a fair chance at getting loot. Just my 2 cents
