Love it or hate it, our Little Light has a brand new voice. Personally, it's taken some getting used to, but overall I like it.
Now I'd just like to point out that Nolan North is just a voice actor...
Actor
Meaning he receives direction. The voice he is using was more than likely one he was asked/told to use. It probably wasn't his choice. Now obviously I do not know this for sure, I don't work for Bungie therefore I do not know what happened.
I also must point out that I am a huge Nolan North fan. I've gotten to meet him at a few cons and he is just incredibly nice.
Obviously I will receive hate for this, which I will disregard, but if anyone wants to have a nice discussion about it, or express their opinions without being needlessly rude feel free!
I thank you all for your time and wish you well!
Tl;dr - Nolan is a voice actor and receives direction from others. It may not necessarily be his fault. Blame the director. Always blame the director. XD

Actually, Nolan North didn't listen to Dinklebot on purpose, just so he could put his own spin on the character. And he certainly did! It shows in both the voice and dialogue. And it is certainly a change for the better.

Edited by Gozel0807: 9/16/2015 6:20:28 AMHe chose to not hear the previous lines so that he could make his own version. They made this info known well before the 2.0.0 patch. To be fair I like Nolan north, but for a serious game like destiny, where we are always on the brink of extinction, his ghost is far to happy. Or the whisper "we've woken the hive" nolan's Ghost just doesn't give out the feeling of the gravity of our situation.
-
I hate it ,sorry if thats not contstructive enough for you but id rather there be no voice at all after all its just a glorified smartphone anyway. The whole ghost thing could go really in my opinion its too much like halo guilty spark and i hated that twat even more.
-
Bungie did not direct him well. He's a great voice actor but our new ghost does not reflect the content. I blame Bungie for this failure.
-
It's just too high pitched. He sounds like some sort of childman or something out of Alvin and the chipmunks. It's just f-king weird sounding. I know Nolan north doesn't talk like that. I don't know why bungie thought he should sound like a pre-pubescent little bitch. It's going to be a while until I stop cringing every time little no no talks.
-
True it does take some getting used too but only because everyone is used to the game of thrones voice lol but honestly I think he did just fine. ***Also a Nolan North fan :)***
-
You expressed your opinion well. It's a shame others cannot do that.
-
Now imagine if north was the first ghost and then replaced with dinklage. "The new ghost is too monotone and doesn't have any emotion!" It's what we're used to and that's why no one likes north.

I agree. I'm a fan of Nolan North. I've played a few games he's done the voice for, most notably the Uncharted series, and his voice in that doesn't sound like the one he uses for the ghost. I can only assume it was the voice Bungie chose. I do dislike the new voice at first a little but mainly because I liked Dinklage's voice for it so I was disappointed he couldn't continue. But I'm sure I will get used to it and come to like it.

Edited by Swiftlock: 9/11/2015 9:34:22 AMIt's not bad, but I fail to see anything praiseworthy or engrossing. He doesn't sound very concerned with what's going on, and instead takes on a whimsical, child-like demeanor, which makes for an unpleasant contrast when you're out there committing alien genocide in bleak settings.
-
So far I am only disappointed with one line. "We've woken the Hive." Beyond that, everything seems to be as good, or better, than dinklage.
-
Most of the delivery was fine; he just had several lines that were completely wrong, tone wise.
-
Dinklebot > Twinklebot
-
While I will admit I have cringe at a few lines by nolaniod, I have to say I do like his more childlike wonderment to dinklebots more or less bored tone. That's not to say dinklebot didn't do some lines better cause he did. But I feel norths voice just fits Better than peters did
-
Dinklebot way better.
-
I like his performance. It's good overall, even though he sounds like a little kid at times.
-
I like him, and his Nolanbot.
-
I was hesitant at first. Now I love Northbot. He is so peppy and cute. It is nice to have a hopeful voice in often dark and creepy environments.
-
Ghosts can self modify at will. I'm getting used to the new voice. It'll grow on me.
-
Needs someone with a heavy foreign accent add some flavor to this game
-
Every time something new comes to Destiny people will complain, telling them to stop or say they are stupid makes it worse. I like the new ghost voice it's actually decent, when Destiny released people complained how lifeless the ghost voice was. Bungie changes the voice and now look at all these ungrateful -blam turds-
-
Eh i would be ok if they just had him do all the new taken king stuff. Seems a bit disrespectful do go over dinklebots old lines. I like his voice though, like 343 guilty spark.
-
Give everyone a few weeks, they'll be used to him
-
He done a great job with Nathan Drake, but Ghost is going to take some getting used to. Hopefully his "direction" will be better in TTK.
