I (Effectively) Bought "The Fermi Solution"
I've been grinding Dead Orbit for 6 months on 3 characters. Today, I decided to experiment with the new pledge system; so my Hunter pledged himself to Dead Orbit.
I saw that you can buy Faction rep by donating materials now. "That's cool,' I thought. "I have a metric crap-ton of sapphire wire. I'll donate some and get a new faction package. Not that there'll be anything useful in it, of course.... there never is."
At the Postmaster, however... THE FERMI SOLUTION!!! That ultra-coveted, super-sweet ship was waiting for me.
And to think I almost decided not to pledge to a faction at all, since I was a little low on glimmer.
So it occurs to me... I more or less bought this ship with my faction pledge and my sapphire wire, didn't I? (No, I did not... it's all random. But sometimes, because human beings instinctively try to detect patterns in everything, random events seem to have a significance that they don't actually possess.)
Just sharing what I thought was an amusing story... because I'm happy to finally get the FERMI SOLUTION!!!!!

11 RepliesI ranked up DO twice yesterday with a bunch of sapphire wire. Does anyone know if there's any reason I should hold onto the rest of it (about 3500 pieces)? I would rather just try my luck at getting the shaders I need.

3 RepliesDo you know if they are willing to take any of the farmable materials? I have nearly a thousand of each and I figured I might start cleaning out my vault a bit. Congrats on your ship btw. It's one of the most coveted ships in the game. Although, I think I like my ship more ;)

I had no idea that the ship was so rare... I've received 2 Revenant shaders and that ship. And between all 3 I think my DO rank is close to 30.

I finally got the New Monarchy ship a couple days ago. Rank 66, but still just one shader, Nefertiti AK

I'm waiting till TTK actually drops and the new "no repeats" system is implemented. I already have all of the New Monarchy shaders minus Cleopatra AK, all of the weapons, and all of the armor, all I want is a damned space Ferrari.
