I have my degree in psychology/child development. In all honesty if a kid acts out in violence it will most likely be due to bad parenting or another environmental/social(school, clubs, extracurriculars) stimuli causing them trauma. As for the video game argument, for me, it is invalid to blame violence in a game as the key factor in a psychological issues later down the road simply because of 1. The countless individuals who play these "violent blood filled games" who turn out to be nonviolent and productive individuals. And 2. the media and location(culture) has more of an effect on violent outcomes than video games ever could.
Simply put I understand your concern, and I feel for you, but as long as you are a good parent and you make sure your child understands that a videogame is about as real as harry potter or dora the explorer then your child should be fine.
So don't trip out, just talk to your child and if they are to young or naive to understand that a game is fake, or the violence makes them uncomfortable, well then your kid should probably not be playing video games in the first place.
Hope this helps ease your problems with the gratuitous violence present in our culture. It's all on you parents so don't f*ck up.
