Dinklage was sooooo much better! People moaning that Dinklage underplayed it, but it was subtlety he was playing, as he is an ai ROBOT after all.
I know Nolan makes more sense as its his business and he's more readily available but now it sounds so cheep and over done. He sounds like he's permanently questioning himself. Ha
Peter Dinklage was awesome! If it ain't broke don't fix it!
But all the fussy childish players out there who thought "well it could be better", nagged away endlessly at Bungie, and Dinklage (which pissed me off) until we all get stuck with this shit "performance" (if that's what you wanna call it).
And now all the people who were amongst the bitchy little whine a lots that caused this mess, have realised that they should've been happy with a good thing and not chased after the mythical "perfect".
At least give us a setting to switch between the two voices for year 1 content so we have a choice!!!

Rant over.
EDIT - Wow THANKS for all the support guys!!! This post is blowing up! I had no idea that (near) EVERYONE else felt as strongly about this as me.
Thank you to all Guardians, keep the replies coming and maybe Bungie will add the voice toggle switch so we can have our little Dinklebot back for year one content.
Keep strong and I'll see you star side! =D

Get over it, Dinker is gone. Thats the problem with using a movie/tv actor to do voice overs. They are usually to busy to keep coming back.

Let's get Morgan freeman to do it

It's natural to like Dinklage better, it's like saying that Sean Connery was the only "real" James Bond, because he originated the role. I personally like the two in different ways, at different times. I liked the way North handled the end, Ghost actually sounded excited and elated that light was returning to the Traveler. Admittedly, I liked Dinklage's annoyed "Don't do that." when the player called him "Little Light". And he sounded more robotic, appropriate since he was playing an A.I. -- the Exo characters sound similar. Which I liked better is harder to answer. It is also completely irrelevant, because let me tell you what I REALLY disliked: having Ghost fall silent throughout the entire Dark Below DLC. Also, having him remain so in House of Wolves. I liked Eris, I really liked Variks. But it was TOTALLY immersion-breaking to have my longtime companion/guide suddenly reduced to a walkie-talkie becauise Peter Dinklage wasn't available to record a few more lines. THAT was unacceptable. And, having Ghost speak with two different voices at different times would have been even more unacceptable. Bungie understood this. They understood that since it was impossible to keep Dinklage in for the long haul, they had two choices: eliminate Ghost as a character, or totally overwrite Dinklage's version. Given how time-consuming and expensive it was, I doubt it was a decision they made lightly. And if it had been feasible for them to retain Dinklage, I think they would have done so. And if he had been able/willing to do his damn job, I would have been willing to have him back. But he wasn't. Nolan North is very different as Ghost, I won't deny it. But he is also a longtime veteran of the gaming industry, and he undoubtedly understands that he's in this for the long haul: DLC's, sequels, whatever. Hopefully, when the rumored Vex DLC comes to us later on, our chatty "little light" will be at our side, giving us his take on the situation.

I auctally feel really bad for Nolan because it's not his fault he's being hated on
-
I always liked dinklebot. I thought he was one of the best things about the game. Then came along a Nolanbot...
-
Never thought I'd say it, but I miss Dink
-
He's not terrible, but I'd rather not have my ghost have the same voice as the man that does my mani-pedis
-
Agreed bring back dinkle bot!!!!!!!!!
-
Dinklage all the way his tone fitted the world much better than the high pitched over cheery childish Nolan

No Nolan is a video game legend and we should grovel at his feet for being a part of our game.

Edited by tidus_0893: 9/12/2015 5:52:07 PMI don't think people got what Dinklage was trying to portray for the ghost character. The ghost is this mysterious, almost "magical" automaton. It's a machine, a very intelligent one. Dinklage gave it a proper voice IMO. Nolan's is too chipper I think, not sure how to word it exactly. The script is hard to work with possibly. There's not much to say, and a small amount of time to actually act. It's not dynamic. The ghost should be more involved, that would help give more life to the character.

I agree with this topic. Even though I love Nolan North, he is really, really, really terrible as Ghost. Really. I don't get why people din't like Dinklage. He was great. He gave character just as it was supposed to be. Cold. Distanced. Uninterested. I just don't understand why of all other things Bungie decided to invest time and money to replace all of the lines so far. Just don't.

I prefer Nolan cause its more interesting despite the fact that he sounds like Johnny Depp's Willy Wonka or a pervert
-
Dicklage sucked .. Pint sized goofball
-
I hate the new voice. I am changing my settings back to spanish because of this. I switched to english for mark hamil as the joker in the arkham series because he is awesome enough to change a major setting and now this nolan guy has made me go back to spanish because of how annoying he is...
-
He sounds like a gay from my work
-
Nolan is clearly talented, however, I feel Dinklage did a much better job. The new Ghost sounds emotionless to me, where as Dinklebot was often cocky or fearful, made for a more fun listening experience IMO.
-
At first he sounded like a cross between C3PO and an elegant old drag queen. Gotta say no no bot is starting to grow on me.
-
Nolan tries to hard to "talk like a robot." Frankly, it's racist.
-
I never had a problem with Dinklebot. I'm sad and mad about it. He's been becoming such an avid actor. And my favorite game was using him to voice act my Cortana 2.0 'Ghost.' It was interesting because my family, who watches GoT, would always recognize the voice if they heard it often enough. I won't get that with Nolan 'I Dont Even Know Who He Is' North. Which is sad because an iconic voice actor like that was really great for the game. I wonder if maybe Dinklage was offended by being called Little Light in script. Maybe they couldn't afford him anymore, that's the thoughts that comforts me most I suppose.
-
Its funny how Nolanbot states everything "Everyone seems to be dead. Oh well."
-
Bump bump bump!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Edited by I Mello I: 9/12/2015 7:12:24 PMYeah Dinklebot sounded more fearful of things and situations. I can't stand the high-toned new ghost voice.
-
He's ducking horrible
-
Dinklebot is way better than Twinkebot.
