Who else thinks Nolan sounds terrible?!!
Dinklage was sooooo much better! People moaning that Dinklage underplayed it, but it was subtlety he was playing, as he is an ai ROBOT after all.
I know Nolan makes more sense as its his business and he's more readily available but now it sounds so cheep and over done. He sounds like he's permanently questioning himself. Ha
Peter Dinklage was awesome! If it ain't broke don't fix it!
But all the fussy childish players out there who thought "well it could be better", nagged away endlessly at Bungie, and Dinklage (which pissed me off) until we all get stuck with this shit "performance" (if that's what you wanna call it).
And now all the people who were amongst the bitchy little whine a lots that caused this mess, have realised that they should've been happy with a good thing and not chased after the mythical "perfect".
At least give us a setting to switch between the two voices for year 1 content so we have a choice!!!

EDIT - Wow THANKS for all the support guys!!! This post is blowing up! I had no idea that (near) EVERYONE else felt as strongly about this as me.
Thank you to all Guardians, keep the replies coming and maybe Bungie will add the voice toggle switch so we can have our little Dinklebot back for year one content.

3 RepliesHey guys, think of some funny or good voices you would want to hear play new ghost. Mines is stewie griffin, zach galifianakis, and or laurence fishburne (morpheus). Two funny voices and one good one.

Personally while I find him to be on par with Peter Dinklage's version I still think he could have done better. I was spoiled too much with Cortana from Halo but I think an A.I. helping you should have better voiced dialogue. Nolan North doesn't feel right and I think until they change the dialogue it won't matter who they have voicing it. He reminds me of Nigel from Frasier.

Each one had their pluses and minuses. I was fine with Dinklage, but I am enjoying watching Nolan North put a different spin on it. "Taken King" is going to develop Ghost's character much further. And I think that Nolan North's more emotional performance will play well into that.

I can totally understand why the got rid of dingle it, as he was too boring and bland, but I didn't mind him, except for the one line, "The sword is close. I can feel it's power!" from the sword of crota mission. If you don't remember that line (if you do, you know [i]exactly[/i] what I'm talking about), watch an old pre-2.0 video of the sword of crota mission on youtube and you'll know what I mean. Either way, the two lines that I think need to be dinklebot regardless of who does the rest are, "No no no no no no no no it's the vex!" from the first venus mission and of course, "We've awoken the hive!" from whatever mission that was.

I think it really goes 50/50 for me. On certain lines Nolan sounds pretty decent but on others he sounds 16 or something. A little too young for me sometimes....

Dammit all!" I guess within time his voice will rub off on the community. But I'm still surprised they got rid of dinklebot to be honest. It was fine to me...

Bungie, just give us the option in-game to choose between the two voices, then everyone could just pick what they like best and while you're at it, give us a female voice too, like EDI from Mass Effect

This is the worst choice ever, there is no emotion to the voice. It's like the whoever it is, is just reading off of a card. Not excitement or change in what each reaction sounds like. Worse choice ever for the voice actor. Dinklage was 10x better. They could have saved money and just had one of their staff read a script. Probably would have turned out better.

50% of the time I think his voice is a good choice... but the other 50% I want to play with muted volume so i don't have to hear his stupid voice

Anything would be better than what we have now. This new ghost voice is just bad. I am all for a mute ghost at this point. Just open my doors, wake the hive and get outta my way.
