Who else thinks Nolan sounds terrible?!!
Dinklage was sooooo much better! People moaning that Dinklage underplayed it, but it was subtlety he was playing, as he is an ai ROBOT after all.
I know Nolan makes more sense as its his business and he's more readily available but now it sounds so cheep and over done. He sounds like he's permanently questioning himself. Ha
Peter Dinklage was awesome! If it ain't broke don't fix it!
But all the fussy childish players out there who thought "well it could be better", nagged away endlessly at Bungie, and Dinklage (which pissed me off) until we all get stuck with this shit "performance" (if that's what you wanna call it).
And now all the people who were amongst the bitchy little whine a lots that caused this mess, have realised that they should've been happy with a good thing and not chased after the mythical "perfect".
At least give us a setting to switch between the two voices for year 1 content so we have a choice!!!

EDIT - Wow THANKS for all the support guys!!! This post is blowing up! I had no idea that (near) EVERYONE else felt as strongly about this as me.
Thank you to all Guardians, keep the replies coming and maybe Bungie will add the voice toggle switch so we can have our little Dinklebot back for year one content.

6 RepliesNolan sounds way better. Ur just used to dinklage since he has been the voice you have heard for a year now. When I first heard dinklage I felt it was one of his worst acting performances ever! He sounded like he phoned it in. No I think nolan was a good change. I do believe they should give different voices for the different ghosts I purchase though.

1 ReplyHalf are better with Dinklage, half are better with Nolan. The difference is, I felt the new voice suited this ghost better while he also incorrectly acted some of the scenes. Dinklage didn't have the voice I expected a tiny AI, but in some parts, his voice carried the emotion I was feeling through his acting. If people replayed the story missions before they made a judgment, they'd come to realize the same thing I did... Unless they can't get through the nostalgia.

1 ReplyI'd like Dinklage to come back, but honestly I can't see it happening. If Nolan is here to stay then that's the way it is, but as he's a professional voice actor why not get him to do a series of different voices and allow the player to choose which one they prefer. 3 RepliesEverybody I have spoken to hates the Nolan voice , I expect the real answer is Bungie just could not afford Dinklage and this is a much cheaper option . BUT why can we not have the parts PD did before , reinstated and just use Nolan as a new Ghost in Taken King .

I like both equally for real. The condescending "subtlety" of the first was on point and prefer that personally. Devils lair strike when u break 2nd mesh barrier is the perfect example why v1.0 was better in that regard. The new guy sounds more curious and exciteable though kinda like you're leading it around vs. Being told where to go by the original.

He is just terrible! Tries to be funny and fails miserably! Should help gotten someone with a deeper voice, like James earl Jones. At least maybe we could get gotten a " guardian I am your father "

I think it's not so much that he sounds terrible per se... I think the real culprit is the director responsible for directing and accepting his delivery. I think he could have been much better if the voice director was able to push him into giving things the proper inflection.
